The fifth gear review is less biased to Mclaren than Top Gear's because, Mclaren used their track to developed their car, not mention Tiff and Plato are real racing drivers, for the first time I think Fifth Gear will save some life of rich people that will buy the Mclaren fax machine.

the mp4-12c is a new car that is trying to follow the legacy of the world's greatest supercar (mclaren f1). Mclaren doesnt have much experience in the modern road car world so I say well done with the mp4-12c making such a great car with the lack of experience. Hopefully they release improved versions of it like a gtr that will do better.

@coldhart79 your right, sure a drifting car can be driven fast, but the quicker more efficient (and unforgiving) car is going to be the one that maintains traction better, but to get the best out of a razor sharp car like that you should be a McLaren F1 driver.

Tiff says the Lamborghini is getting a bit older now, mainly in the clutch department, not really a fair comparison with the 458.

And it's not meant to drift. The car need it's traction control on to go fast like the Ferrari 599 GTO. Is like a raptor needs it's computer to fly, without it and just the pilot input, it will crash. Traction on to go fast compared to other cars that on traction control for stability is totally different philosophy. MP4-12C is one of them like the 599 GTO.

But I still find the way they comment on the MP4-12C is a bit discriminating the car. I don't really think that's bad after so many tests & research done. I actually prefer the Ferrari 458 more to the Mclaren MP4-12C if I were to choose one... But after Mclaren done so much research on this car. I don't believe they will miss out anything cos this is their new era of production car after the F1 GTR which is more than a decade. And those test were made in the same day, not like in top gear, with diferent air a surface temperatures, and dust on the track... and maybe different driver....

Plus, the Mclaren was developed in the TG testrack... if they tested the the 12c in fiorano, maybe the ferrari would give him 3 seconds too... who knows...
