That day was mental, I left Motherwell for Glasgow at 1pm by 7pm I had only got to the Hamilton Services, a lot of ppl just slept in work (The Cooncil BTW), I got home at 9pm, by the sounds of it I was lucky. I prolonged the agony by about 45 mins, cuz the traffic was moving so slow I lost my bearings and sat in the Q for the A725, which was still at a halt thinking it was the M8, the M8 traffic had been flowing for ages div!. It only took me 45 mins to get home once the traffic freed about 8PM.
I was stuck on the M8 for a long night during the winter of 2010/11. My truck wouldn't get enough traction. I eventually had to sit and rev the nuts off the engine to stop the truck freezing... not fun! It's due to return this year too.
Oh man i remember that day i used a full tank of fuel between Livi and shotts i was in a Yaris. Hope i never experience that ever again very scary after 16 hours.
There were three of us stuck in the car tryting to get to falkirk from coat bridge along the A80 etc... 20 hours it took us to make it man it was fuckin cold out tho! but the experience was anticipated we had pleanty of fags to smoke and pleanty of something else to smoke ;) 3 quaters of a bottle of whisky and a weeks worth of food to eat at work also, what an experience tho and credit ALL the people who came from their homes with food and hot drinks etc.. to help out all the stuck people.
