  • I think the main reason it's so divisive is because of the social policy. The standards for a registered are unrealistic for any gathering of college kids so 99% of parties have to be unregistered. Now you have to have a party of 80 or so people invisible to anyone outside the house so you don't get busted so you can't let anyone else in sealing off your house from any other group. If the registered parties were chaperoned less than a second grade field trip the community would be much closer.
