hey man. what pedals are you using? i have the marshall jcm800 lead series and the zakk wyld sig pickupps and i cant get that sound. are you using a phase 90?

Hey bro...the pups are ZW 81/85 set of EMG's, Wah is a Dunlop Cry Baby Classic, overdrive is a Boss SD-1. The Boss SD-1 i believe is the pedal Zakk used before the new signature one. The tone may come from the Celestion Vintage 30's that are in the cab. On the Marshall DSL50 head, the master volume is around 3-4 and the gain is never over 12 o'clock that way I can hit the SD-1 to play lead stuff or whatever. Hope some of this helps you. Let me know what you figure out.

you think the dsl50 could push a full stack good enough to cut through in a band situation? im in a thrash band at the moment (but i also play ALOT of classic rock and rock-style metal.. like motorhead, BLS style things) i might be pickin up the head and another cab from this guy to replace my mg, and i would have 2 cabs (will replace the mg cab with a 1960a eventually) and i dont jus twant one to be sitting around nice paul thogh, are those the 500T, 496T pups?

The DSL50 head SHOULD be enough. I can barely get the volume up of about 2. The DSL series and others are MADE for gig situations. The pups are stock, although i just put a set of EMG Zakk Wylde's in. These pups scream.  The cab i have has 4 vintage 30's so that helps alot with the sound, tone and loudness.(i have talked to Celestion and they say that if you have a 50 watt amp with a Vintage 30 speaker, it will sound like a 100 watt amp just because of the SPL level)Later!
