The crush I had on Christine from You Can't Do That On Television.. *sigh* Sharon, Lois and Bram's Elephant Show and Eureka's Castle would have been past my time had I not younger siblings. I wonder what the cost of getting these to iTunes or Hulu for upload really is, but just how many tapes have been deleted by small budgets and poor foresight.. so sad. The great VHS scavenger hunt at begins.
there was a show that was on with a bunch of kids that went to a scary school with weird stuff that happened..one of the episodes i remember was one of the kids got a drawing tablet from this bum in front of the school and everything he drew in it came alive...any info?

@dramavogue Also let's not forget Inspector Gadget, Didn't Hey Dude come on in 1989? My brother watched Danger Mouse which aired in 1986, Darkwing duck was my favorite. Then there was Sharon Lois and Bram, it always reminded me of the San Antonio zoo for some reason.
It's dumb arguing about 80's vs 90's. Do you think in the year 2050 it's going to matter. We're all just going to be catergorized in the same group....OLD.
@BumpThe21stCentury Take your pathetic race-baiting else where, Sharpton. I wasn't and I don't sugar-coat the 1980s. I made a fucking 3 minute clip honoring Nickelodeon shows from the 80s, for the purpose of filling the void on Youtube left by too many Nick-themed tributes that ignore them. You're not interested? Shut up and click on the next page then.
@Enelar You mean the mid 90s. The early 90s had some good shows like Doug, Clarissa Explains it All, Ren and Stimpy, Rugrats, Rocko's Modern Live (can be seen on TV Links or Hulu) Around 1995 Nickelodian like Disney began to suck. But in 1994 I was watching What's Happening reruns on BET, Beavis and Butthead on MTV, and Martin on FOX. At least the Simpsons lives on!!!
@reddragonx ok wow stuff like that started WAY before the 90s and you know its todays world that made it a 1000 times worst look at music for exaple Tupac,Biggie,Easy-E,and diddy are well known for there songs about overcoming or how much they miss their dead friends while todays music is nothin but gettin high, havin sex with every girl you see,and obsessin over money And wit tv it was a whol lot better than the crap we got on now smh spongebob, icarly, and Victorious wouldnt last a day in the 90s
@ufcdias Trust me, not ONE thing that I listed was more common before the 1990s than during, and that was the point. The 90s is when school shootings, ritalin "curing", TV/game addiction, ecstasy culture, teacher-student sex scandals etc became COMMON. I'm old enough that I even saw those things rise. You're another who clings onto to your positive memories of that decade because you were a child then..and even after I explicitly point out things that WEREN'T great you just champion it more.
@xreddragonx Ritalin was prescribed heavily along with other prescription drugs that claim to treat ADD/ADHD. During the 80s there was MASSIVE hospitalizations to psychiaitric facilities, the school districts would get money for diagnosing children and encouraged parents to send them off to one. You need to lookup National Medical Enterprises, antipsychiatrydotorgslashunjust dotht ml Ritalin curing did not start in the 90s though the crackdown on these hospitalizations started in 1992.
Oh about rap being more "positive" then? Then why are 3 of 4 rappers you mentioned DEAD? Rap was mostly fun in the 80s, then in the 90s (after NWA) became rampant with violence both in and out of lyrics, and obscene in other ways. People nowadays love to pretend it was all "meaningful and positive". Songs about overcoming? Don't Kanye West and Eminem still make songs like that? And you think that songs about getting high and screwing started in 2000? Revisit a 2Pac album then.
@xreddragonx Well you seem to forget about the 2 Live Crew in 1989, The NWA which started about the same time. Wasn't Tupac a part of the Digital Underground? You had some others like LL Cool J. It all depends on the definition of obscene. Songs about getting high started in the 60s visit a Doors, Beatles, Bob Marley, or Strawberry Alarm Clock album. For screwing start with a Digital Underground, 2 Live Crew, or Strokin by Clarence Carter.
@willdav713 You're right, some of this content in rap started in the 80s, but for MOST of the 80s,rap was cleaner and somewhat more positive. And yes I know that songs about drugs/sex occurred before in 60s-70s Rock, in 70s Disco or 40s/50s Blues. Songs about drugs in Rock/Blues were more like observations, sometimes even cautionary messages whereas many Rap songs glorified it...others glorified guns, gangs, killing cops, using and ditching "hos".etc.
@Titanic141912 (<now deleted) Alright you tosser, you only get to babble on about the 90s once here (and even then it's when I'm in a good mood). This is an 80s video for 80s fans, take a fucking hike. I'm sick of the obnoxious obsession you kids have with that mediocre decade. You fuckers act like world peace was achieved during that time.
@xreddragonx The 90's was the advancement of technology! Animation, Computers, Videogames, Movies, Shows, etc! Titanic 1997 was created in the 90's (It broke the world record of highest grossing film)! Zelda: Ocarina of Time was like the greatest game of all time. The Sims came out in the 90's and became the highest selling computer game of all time! Pokemon came in the 90's and did you see how popular it was? And it still is popular! The point is the 90's gave us the most things!
@Titanic141912 Fine I'll entertain this (in a good enough mood i guess). Thank the 80s for birthing the 20th century's big technological boom (vid games, home PCs and the internet took off in the 80s). Animation advanced in the 90s, but did even further in the 00s. Video games, same. Film actually experienced more innovation in the 60s and 70s than the 90s. Titanic is hardly loved by all, regardless of how it grossed. Star Wars, ET and Indy Jones were more exciting high-grossing events.
@Titanic141912 Zelda games are great, but there is no general consensus on what the greatest game ever is. The Sims is NOT 90s but from the year 2k, and enjoyed greatest popularity from '01-'04. By the way, 3 video game references as examples of 90s greatness? Pokemon? Okay, lol. Give me TMNT or Transfomers (which have both been revived for the new generation along with other 80s phenomenon). The 90s gave us "most things"?? Well, let's see what else it gave us...
School violence, kids being doped up on ritalin to excess, popular music sending poor messages to youth (gangsta rap, sex-driven teen pop), the corporatizing of MTV and Nickelodeon (both also to the detriment of youth), young girls dressing like trash, the peak of ecstasy abuse, increase in depression rates, kids isolating indoors due to technology, increased obesity, Clinton's sex scandals and teacher-student sex scandals. We can thank the 90s for a lot of negatives introduced to society.
@Titanic141912 The 90's were a disappointment to children of the 80's, I'm sorry but this is the honest truth.
The Sims was released on February 4, 2000. The Ocarina of Time is a beloved game but the Legend of Zelda series began in 1986 in Japan. Titanic was a great movie but the Titanic ship didn't sink in the 90's and without that historic event, no film would have ever been made. PokeMon launched on September 30, 1998 - the END of the 90's.
Wow..I was so young in the 80s that I can remember only a few of these shows: Danger Mouse and Count Duckula. Honestly, after watching this and reading up on Nick in the 80s, I am still of the opinion that the 90s were the golden years, especialy for cartoons. Sorry 80s fans.
I overhauled the info section, and advise strongly that visitors and revisitors take a look at it. Contains a music update, plus a somewhat lengthy Nickelodeon "Timeline", which could be helpful particularly to younger viewers unaware of Nick's 80's history. It goes up to 1994.
being a complaining 90's kid, I often forget that nick still had the 80's. Just a question: in the 1990's did you 80's fans say that nick was ruined (just like us 90 kids are saying today)
@Lonelypanda2697 Yes I was unhappy with it, and I imagine others were. In 1997-1998 I was regularly telling my little brother how much the newer shows sucked. Nick's gotten far worse since then, of course. We also didn't have the internet and tribute videos to express our frustrations with-- there WAS internet, but not too many spaces to complain about the newer Nick, although I imagine a few people chatting on IM/IRC were probably talking about it.
@Lonelypanda2697 Yes, we did. The majority of us hated Nicktoons - feeling the animation to be subpar and lazy, we wanted the old Nick back though even a lot of my fellow 80's kids like All That, Hey Dude, Clarissa Explains It All and many of the game shows (myself included).
In the future, the 2000's kids will be complaining about the 2020 generation Nick too and will call "their" Nick the golden age while denying the 80's and 90's ever existed.
Does ANYONE remember a couple old Nick Tunes, one being this walking pair of feet, like 1/2 the McDonnalds arch being chased by a big bouncing spider? The other is a claymation that was made by a classroom. Featured some kind of monster in a forest with an annoying cricket chirp or bird chirp. Monster had slowed down lines and said something. Ending was a bunch of clay shapes and things spinning around with a song that went something like "Bah boop booo diddlie die, bye bye." ? Id LOVE 2 C
I watched this while listening to Rammstein's "Amerika". It felt creepy that the song went so good with this video. Perhaps you could use that song for this video's new music.
What legality issues? This video and many like it have been spread ALL over the net and is not actually exclusive to YCDTOTV....I believe the original is in public domain already. Are you saying the IMAGES are copywrite also? You seem to post them....
Anyway, your video doesn't work so we go to the next and thank you for wasting our valuable time and call you a douch.
@kpreston69 You must be high, because I cannot figure out what you're on about. My disclaimer was referring to a Youtube/major label copyright claim on the MUSIC I originally ran this clip with. As far as "video doesn't work", that would appear to be a problem on your own end, since I am here and it is running just fine.
I'm sorry that your lack of ability to work the internet has resulted in feeling your time was wasted. No one else commenting seems to feel similar.
Anybody remember the name of that one show (can't remember if it's 80's or 90's) that was on right after Muppet Babies, that had a guy with an acoustic guitar singing, and there were kids sitting on the floor in front of him? All I know is that it isn't Fred Penner's Place.
OMG, the Mysterious Cities of Gold! I had forgotten about that one. I loved it! I forgot about David the Gnome too. I had that song stuck in my head for years. I loved all of these, actually.
I miss old Nick So badly that I made a montage like this, If you miss old Nick and Disney Movies and feel like crying check it out on my channel. Its called Hey Arnold what the hell happened to TV, its got videos too.
I have a question and I'm hoping that you or someone else can please help me. I remember this show I watched in late 1984/early 1985. I'm almost positive it was a Nick show and the only thing I remember is a snipet from the closing credits. It had some adults (4-5) each wearing a different colored pajama/jumpsuit and they were sitting on the ground next to each other, each close to sneezing.
Can anyone help me? I've been racking my brain trying to remember this show! :-(
even if you played a completely irrelevant song it would be better than no sound at all. some guys used the Rugrats movie song, which i know isn't from here but liiike... your friend playing acoustic guitar that sounds all nostalgic could work... or one of Jack Johnson's children's songs. the silence is killin me cuz it's such a good video
@YoOogene Thanks for the feedback, I'll keep it in mind. It's been real hard deciding on a song to use, and I mean, even deciding on the song I originally used was difficult! But I'll try to work harder to find a song.
@xreddragonx I watched this while listening to Rammstein's "Amerika". It felt creepy that the song went so good with this video. Perhaps you could use that song for this video's new music.
I've been wanting to say this for a while now. The green slime... That came from You Can't Do That On Television! Let's give some respect to the classics!
this is my moms, im the 90s, miss them all, bring back these, 80s and 90s, 80s had some cool shows, are you afraid of the dark started in the ending of 80's and went to 90s, MISS THEM ALL!!, go retro and oldschool <3
I am a huge 90s kid but i actually watched some of these shows when they had reruns back in the day. Thanks for the upload it's good to see some familiar toons.
oh man you can't do that on television. i love that shit. That's the only show i can't remember the name to. man is that the one with the dirty chef that was one of my favorite character
@SuperKingNova "Dirty Chef", do you mean Barth- than yes that would definitely be you Can't Do that on television. Barthy had all the really gross scenes on the show and when the kids would "throw up" he'd grab his bucket to catch it while saying "Waste not one I always say." Ewww! LOL I am in my 30's but may have to go home, dig out my VHS tapes just to watch YCDTOT tonight.
nick has gone from the best of the best to the worst of the shittiest i miss you nickelodean i used to admire you and watch you every day but now i have no clue who you are with these crackpot stupid planet sheen and fanboy and chum chum who are you i want the old you back stop smoking these crackpipes and and coming up with stupid show ideas
Man, I really wish I was an 80s child. I was born in 1991, but I absolutely love 80s stuff & some of the 90s as well. I really wish I got to experience some of those shows, though. BTW, great tribute.
If you ask me, the Golden Age of Nickelodeon was both the 80s AND the 90s. There were some good programs in the 2000s, but for the most part it was slowly declining around that time. I feel Nickelodeon's downfall was sometime in the 2000s.
Thanks for making this video, I was more of a 90's era Nick kid being that I was born in 87 so I was never exposed to these shows. Nick has changed a lot (when you see DBZ on Nick..you know you have a problem). What happened to the audio though?
hey guys i know you want the old nick back right?? so please write letter to nickelodeon studios telling them to bring these old classic shows back!!! please i and many of other ppl miss these shows.. so please write a letter thanks!!... the address is 231 West Olive Avenue, Burbank, CA
@Titanic141912 Wrong. The whoring for dollars started in the 90's. What made the 90's the golden age of Nickelodeon? Was it because they showed more Nicktoons than in the 80's? I've experienced Nick since 79 (still the Pinwheel Network) and I can say that in the 80's it was much more educational, kid friendly, original, diverse and tolerable than any other time in it's existence
@marioTmaggot maybe it was because the Titanic141912 (and myself) grew up in the 90s & you grew up in the 80s. People who grew up in different decades have different opinions on children's television.
@namigw I'd agree... probably sometime in 1991-92 was the end of it; around the time the "Nicktoons" branding emerged and Nickelodeon slowly began to phase out licensed programming for their own original productions.
@robinkom "around the time the "Nicktoons" branding emerged and Nickelodeon slowly began to phase out licensed programming for their own original productions." Absolutely, robinkom. That was the beginning of the end. The channel's goals were clearly changing.
@Titanic141912 The golden age of Nick began in the 80s and ended in the early 90s. The last great shows Nick aired began in 1991-1992 with Doug and Rugrats. After that it was all downhill to the cesspool it has become today.
@Titanic141912 Lololololol. So you were born in 1995/1996? That means you were in the 90s for about 5 years, 2 of which youd probably remember. Stop trying to pretend your a "90s kid", because your not. Kids born from 1988 to 1994 are 90s kids.
Hey guys!!! I know you guys want the old nick back right…??? So if we all write letters telling nick that WE NEED THE OLD NICK back they will prob listen soooooooooooooo lets all write letters telling them what we want!!!! Pleaseeeeeee now there studio address in California Is 231 West Olive Avenue, Burbank, CA? - and phone num-
Oh the days. We didn't have cable at my house when I was younger, but my grandparents did. When I'd go over there, I'd watch this. I fondly remember watching Nickelodeon while having the chicken pox.
somebody help me out here!!! ... there was an 80's kids show that i am pretty certain aired on nickolodeon that had a character on it named "Desiree". She dressed eccentricly (poka dots, neon clors, etc.) and she would screech this short high pitched 3 note "melody" that would repeat 3 times... WHAT THE HELL IS THE SHOW??? It's been driving me insane for years!
@rebelrouser444: you're thinking of a show called "Out of Control", hosted by Dave Coulier (from Full House) that aired on Nick in the 1980s. The character was named Dizz.
I'm not downing the 80's Nick because I wasn't born until 1992, so i wouldn't know, but i did watch 90's Nick since 2 and believe it was more of our (90 babies) taste! Nothing can compare!
@danny75461 omg i just said almost the same thing on another channel, except i said they should do a week of nothin but 90s nick. ur ideas a lot better tho
Just an opinion of mine is all but Pinwheel/Nick of the late 70's was the Bronze age, Nick of the 80's was the Silver Era (and in my mind carried mostly by YCDTOTV), and the Nick of the 90's was arguably the Gold Era. Nick of today is what I'd call its Lead (as in "dead weight") Era. There is VERY little that is BARELY watchable on Nickelodeon these days sadly.

It's almost over. they should have a Nick rock 80's Block and a Nick rewind channel on a Nick Rewind channel. 6:00 The Smurfs 6:30. DangerMouse 7:00 YCDTOT 7:30 Dusty's Treehouse 8:00 Going Great 8:30 Tomorroe's People 9:00 Mr. Wizard's World 9:30 Third Eye 10:00 Out of Control 10:30 Livewire 11:00 standby.
@IMZEECATMAN You mean Danger Mouse? Then pray tell, what channel did YOU watch it on? Because I watched it Nickelodeon from 1990 until about 93, and a quick search will reveal it was broadcast there starting in1984
@IMZEECATMAN I know I'm late, but Boomerang doesn't air original programming. Their schedule is pretty much cartoons that have aired previously on other channels, mostly shows from the 90s and earlier.
For everyone confused about the BM logo, its there on some clips because the clips I used were taken from the internet, not my own collection. They were the first clips of the cartoons I could find at the time.
Awesome, awesome, awesome...Pinwheel was an excellent show, heck all of these shows were awesome. I remember watching You Can't do That On Television at 7pm then Danger Mouse and the first fifteen minutes of Nick at Nite, before it went off the air if you didn't get Nick at Nite. Those were the days.
@HeyMrThompson Good for you. Type "90s Nickelodeon" into your YouTube search engine, and you will find plenty of results relevant to your preferences. Go there, join in on the praising of awesome "classics" like Rocket Power and Cousin Skeeter, and recognize that this what you should have done instead of entering an 80s Nick video. :)
I like the collection of title clips. I remember almost all of them from my own TV childhood. I think llama1498 is referring to the idea that where you found the clips includes Boomerang, look carefully at "Danger Mouse." Regardless, thanks for posting this walk down memory lane.
I miss the 80s and 90s! (I still have my Atari 2600, NES, SNES, Genesis, and Nintendo 64 all in my bedroom with a CRT monitor!) I bucked the laptop trend with my last computer by buying a desktop as well.
Has anyone else noticed that Youtube is running a bit slower since it got a make-over? Maybe its just my computer, but anyhoo, I love the video it brings back such great memories of my childhood, I remember fondly the good old days of nickelodean, or pinwheel as it was first called, time was so much simpler back then, wish I could go back!
I remember all of these shows. Many I watched growing up and other, like the Elephant Show, I watched with my baby sister. Thanks for sharing the memories.
WHAT PLANET AND OR PLANE OF REALITY ARE YOU ON? Cartoon network and Boomerang show Hanna Babera Cartoons (and toons affliated with H.B.)as Cartoon Net work started showing Hana Barbera toons since its started.
Ever seen the 80's He-man? No cause last I checked L'Oreal (yeah THAT L'OREAL)owns him (Filmation which did He-Man/She-Ra went out of biz years ago)
Sorry u can't have any audio (the "man" sucks!) I LOVED that you had Pinwheel. Its narly 5 a.m. and I waiting to see if you'd have Pinwheel, lol! The Little Prince was on Nick? Wow, here it was on ABC. GREAT VID!
yea like why is george lopez on there?? same with malcom in the middle and the nanny? if u ask me it should be old school nick like from 80s and 90s like stuff as are you afraid of the dark, hey dude, salute your shorts, and you cant do that on television
@gannon1op I totally agree the 90's cast members and shows were way better than whats on now I cant even tell you what shows come on now besides spongebob
I remember most of them fondly wish I could see them again and I have seen mysterious cities of gold again twice and have DM and duckula on dvdI but would just love to see this come back like a renisance
um you are sooo wrong robken... a 90's child had THE best selection of kids shows.hey arnold, all that, kenan and kel, rocketpower, rugrats, doug.. man that time period was great
Awesome shows. Yes, growing up in the early/mid 80's seems like it was one of the last generations with quality shows with a goal to educate as well as amuse/entertain. Sorry, youngsters;-)
Everyone loves their childhood memories of television. I'm sure a lot of us think our decade was great. I'm a 90's child so I love the Nick tributes of the 90's. I thought i'd check out the 80's...I love the evolution of Nick
This was an era of childrens t.v when it didn't turn kids into zombies with pointless crap like it does now. Back then it stimulated kids and these shows taught morals, values and real learning skills like reading, spelling and science. Everything today is just crap thrown together just so lazy parents can dump their kids in front of the t.v. I leanred so much from these shows and others like sesame street and Mr. Rogers. Truly a Golden age of childrens television.
@kalloused Well said. One thing that is way different todays tv is the onslaught of commercials. About two years ago I saw an episode of You Can't Do That On Television from the early 80s, and there were only 3 commercials before the show started again. Nickelodeon use to be really cool, but they have let some of the cheesiest, and poorly animated shows on there. sorry to those of you who grew up with those newer cartoons, but take a moment and look up early Nick shows. Then find them on YT
A new website has opened called timemachinetv(dot)co(dot) uk there selling all the old tv shows from our childhood i recently bought keenan and kel and OMG i loved it brings back so many memories they also take requests for shows which is great you guys should go check it out but its only for uk customers but i bet if the international customers showed enough interest theyd sell abroad so email them
okay, can anyone tell me wat name of the show from 3:02

During the 80s there was MASSIVE hospitalizations to psychiaitric facilities, the school districts would get money for diagnosing children and encouraged parents to send them off to one. You need to lookup National Medical Enterprises, antipsychiatrydotorgslashunjust dotht ml Ritalin curing did not start in the 90s though the crackdown on these hospitalizations started in 1992.
willdav713 4 months ago
Oh about rap being more "positive" then? Then why are 3 of 4 rappers you mentioned DEAD? Rap was mostly fun in the 80s, then in the 90s (after NWA) became rampant with violence both in and out of lyrics, and obscene in other ways. People nowadays love to pretend it was all "meaningful and positive". Songs about overcoming? Don't Kanye West and Eminem still make songs like that? And you think that songs about getting high and screwing started in 2000? Revisit a 2Pac album then.
xreddragonx 5 months ago
@xreddragonx Well you seem to forget about the 2 Live Crew in 1989, The NWA which started about the same time. Wasn't Tupac a part of the Digital Underground? You had some others like LL Cool J. It all depends on the definition of obscene. Songs about getting high started in the 60s visit a Doors, Beatles, Bob Marley, or Strawberry Alarm Clock album. For screwing start with a Digital Underground, 2 Live Crew, or Strokin by Clarence Carter.
willdav713 4 months ago

You fuckers act like world peace was achieved during that time.
xreddragonx 5 months ago
@xreddragonx The 90's was the advancement of technology! Animation, Computers, Videogames, Movies, Shows, etc! Titanic 1997 was created in the 90's (It broke the world record of highest grossing film)! Zelda: Ocarina of Time was like the greatest game of all time. The Sims came out in the 90's and became the highest selling computer game of all time! Pokemon came in the 90's and did you see how popular it was? And it still is popular! The point is the 90's gave us the most things!
Titanic141912 5 months ago
@Titanic141912 Fine I'll entertain this (in a good enough mood i guess). Thank the 80s for birthing the 20th century's big technological boom (vid games, home PCs and the internet took off in the 80s). Animation advanced in the 90s, but did even further in the 00s. Video games, same. Film actually experienced more innovation in the 60s and 70s than the 90s. Titanic is hardly loved by all, regardless of how it grossed. Star Wars, ET and Indy Jones were more exciting high-grossing events.
xreddragonx 5 months ago
@Titanic141912 Zelda games are great, but there is no general consensus on what the greatest game ever is. The Sims is NOT 90s but from the year 2k, and enjoyed greatest popularity from '01-'04. By the way, 3 video game references as examples of 90s greatness? Pokemon? Okay, lol. Give me TMNT or Transfomers (which have both been revived for the new generation along with other 80s phenomenon). The 90s gave us "most things"?? Well, let's see what else it gave us...
xreddragonx 5 months ago
School violence, kids being doped up on ritalin to excess, popular music sending poor messages to youth (gangsta rap, sex-driven teen pop), the corporatizing of MTV and Nickelodeon (both also to the detriment of youth), young girls dressing like trash, the peak of ecstasy abuse, increase in depression rates, kids isolating indoors due to technology, increased obesity, Clinton's sex scandals and teacher-student sex scandals. We can thank the 90s for a lot of negatives introduced to society.
xreddragonx 5 months ago
@xreddragonx PokeMon was 1999 if I'm recalling right - that puts it more in the 00 generation.
Enelar 5 months ago
@Titanic141912 The 90's were a disappointment to children of the 80's, I'm sorry but this is the honest truth.
The Sims was released on February 4, 2000. The Ocarina of Time is a beloved game but the Legend of Zelda series began in 1986 in Japan. Titanic was a great movie but the Titanic ship didn't sink in the 90's and without that historic event, no film would have ever been made. PokeMon launched on September 30, 1998 - the END of the 90's.
It isn't THE BEST DECADE EVER. Sorry.

TheOriginalLonestar 6 months ago
I overhauled the info section, and advise strongly that visitors and revisitors take a look at it. Contains a music update, plus a somewhat lengthy Nickelodeon "Timeline", which could be helpful particularly to younger viewers unaware of Nick's 80's history. It goes up to 1994.
xreddragonx 7 months ago
Wooooowwwww, some of these shows was still coming on nickelodeon and nickelodeon jr in the early 90s.
cooliceboy2002 7 months ago
being a complaining 90's kid, I often forget that nick still had the 80's. Just a question: in the 1990's did you 80's fans say that nick was ruined (just like us 90 kids are saying today)
Lonelypanda2697 7 months ago
@Lonelypanda2697 Yes I was unhappy with it, and I imagine others were. In 1997-1998 I was regularly telling my little brother how much the newer shows sucked. Nick's gotten far worse since then, of course. We also didn't have the internet and tribute videos to express our frustrations with-- there WAS internet, but not too many spaces to complain about the newer Nick, although I imagine a few people chatting on IM/IRC were probably talking about it.
xreddragonx 7 months ago
@Lonelypanda2697 Yes, we did. The majority of us hated Nicktoons - feeling the animation to be subpar and lazy, we wanted the old Nick back though even a lot of my fellow 80's kids like All That, Hey Dude, Clarissa Explains It All and many of the game shows (myself included).
In the future, the 2000's kids will be complaining about the 2020 generation Nick too and will call "their" Nick the golden age while denying the 80's and 90's ever existed.
Enelar 5 months ago
Does ANYONE remember a couple old Nick Tunes, one being this walking pair of feet, like 1/2 the McDonnalds arch being chased by a big bouncing spider? The other is a claymation that was made by a classroom. Featured some kind of monster in a forest with an annoying cricket chirp or bird chirp. Monster had slowed down lines and said something. Ending was a bunch of clay shapes and things spinning around with a song that went something like "Bah boop booo diddlie die, bye bye." ? Id LOVE 2 C

What legality issues? This video and many like it have been spread ALL over the net and is not actually exclusive to YCDTOTV....I believe the original is in public domain already. Are you saying the IMAGES are copywrite also? You seem to post them....
Anyway, your video doesn't work so we go to the next and thank you for wasting our valuable time and call you a douch.
kpreston69 7 months ago
@kpreston69 You must be high, because I cannot figure out what you're on about. My disclaimer was referring to a Youtube/major label copyright claim on the MUSIC I originally ran this clip with. As far as "video doesn't work", that would appear to be a problem on your own end, since I am here and it is running just fine.
I'm sorry that your lack of ability to work the internet has resulted in feeling your time was wasted. No one else commenting seems to feel similar.

If you ask me, the Golden Age of Nickelodeon was both the 80s AND the 90s. There were some good programs in the 2000s, but for the most part it was slowly declining around that time. I feel Nickelodeon's downfall was sometime in the 2000s.

@kalloused I agree 100%! I miss these shows, but thanks to Youtube, hopefully I can eventually share these w/ my own kids.
