There is no way they would be able to get George Clooney (who would be terrible anyway), Brad Pitt, Jim Carrey & Ving Rhames in the same picture. Too many big name actors - too expensive a cast. George Clooney - Col. "Hannibal" Smith

Brad Pitt - Lt. "Faceman" Peck

Jim Carrey - Capt. "Howling Mad" Murdock

The movie budget may have been stretched however to the limit to accomodate these superstars.

They broke a mental patient out of a metal hospital like 200 times. They repeatedly knocked out a 250 pound black man with that magical shot they always had.

There's difference between the things u mentioned vs the new movie. The difference is those things u mentioned didn't need CGI. Sure it's none of it is realistic, but at least it's not a falling tank out of the sky. The stuff u mention, they were able to do without computers in the 80s. Do u really think they blow up a plane and let a tank fall out? How many takes do they need to get the shot right? Obviously, that's CGI.
