  • Very powerful form with some nice flare to it. Obviously you have been learning tai chi for many years. Your form looks very Chen style not much Yang style in it. Slow down, most of the form is Yang, not Chen. You need more Yin which makes that Yang that much more powerful. Overall very fun to watch.

  • @chibaker Thanks, To be honest with you, I start learning Taichi not long ago. The "Chen Style" you see in this form perhaps were from years of practicing Tae Kwon Do and Shaolin. I am aware of that my pace is way too fast. I am working on it. You should check out my recent clip and see if I've improved or not.... =P

  • Undoubtedly your first is far better than my last. It is a pity that wonderful presentation should be "improved". Well let's just enjoy the moment. Thank you for all that shared this.

  • @prl3800 Thanks, I am very flattered. It is always a pleasure for me to get constructive advice and critiques. "Improvement" is always needed no matter how well one does. That is why there is a saying: "Practice Makes It Perfect." We may never be prefect, but we certainly can become better. Cheers ! =P

  • First of all, I'm learning something just watching your tai chi 48 .. some of the movements you execute here are more defined than in the other videos I have see on here. However, there are a lot of your executions wherein the movements are too fast and abrupt .. they seem hurried and haphazardly done (ex. left & right heel kick). Tai chi is supposed to be slow and relaxed, is it not? Most tai chi 48 are done in 8 minutes, yours in 6:12 - your movements fast.

  • @blaknyte1 Thank you. You are absolutely correct about me being too fast, and I am aware of that too. I find it hard to slow down sometimes, but I am still working on it. Thank you again. Cheers! =P

  • Your tai chi chuan is wonderful to look at.. It has Chi, Jing and Shen. What more do they want?? And besides, you are graceful and beautiful.

    Thank you for posting this.

  • @TatarInExile Thank you for your encouragement. I am still working on it. I will do my best to improve what I need to improve, but imprersonate. I will also continue to be what I want to be, not what others want me to be. =P

  • @xiao890 @xiao890 I have practiced tai chi over 20 years, I would like to say you are doing the very correct way in practicing tai chi, you will know i am telling you the truth in a few years. Sure, if you pay a little more attention to the coordination between your breathing and moving, you will even do better. forget what pribadi8406 said, he has no clue what is the real tai chi.

  • @wintercoldest Thank you for your encouragement. I sure will work harder and practice more with all the Taichi forms that I've learned. No worries, I am the type of person with very strong will and determination. I will not get beat down easily. The more challenges, the better I will become. Cheers! =P

  • do more! learn more! watch more, everyone also has a start-line,but never reach the end, keep it!

  • do more! watch more, will be good! everyone has a start line, but never has the end,

  • do more! watch more, will be good!

  • I am no expert at this (you people are obviously at competition levels) but I can truly say that your "wrong" way looks better than most people's "right" way. Most tai chi videos that I see are so stylized and sanitized that it is all art and no martial. People might as well be doing a meaningless choreographed dance move. Your moves are beautiful, graceful *and* strong in way rarely seen. if you have to do things another way for competition so be it, but don't lose sight of who you are.

  • @user2171 Thanks. Honestly, I am not at competition level at all. Not with Taichi at lease. I just like Martial Arts, and this is the first time I am learning and filming this form. Learning Taichi is a lot harder than I thought comparing to Wushu. I can pick up moves fast, but doing it right and well is a whole different story. Also looking at my own video certainly helps me in improving what I need to improve. Thanks again. Cheers!

  • Cool video!

  • There is integration of movement, yes talent, but it looks as if you really need a good teacher :-) Anyway jiayou!

  • @marchey Thanks. You are right about having a good Taichi teacher. My shifu isn't specialized in Taichi, but Wushu. Her specialties are broadsword and double broadsword.

  • The more I watch your video...the more I feel like to yell at you. Even your whole group of performers..do it awfully. I got the feeling...you don't have a teacher to teach you at all. :-(

Come to my park, I teach for free.

  • @pribadi8406 Thanks for your comment. Would you mind showing me what you've got first and then give me "your park" location??? Thank you.

  • @xiao890 ,

There are many teachers that can teach combo 48 form for free. For taichi application, they want your money. Watch Chen Si Tan, Gao Jia Min videos...follow their movements step by step...you will see how much corrections you need. Which area do you live? Western states or east coast? U like kungfu? Learn kungfu fan, it is fun. Prof Li created it, the same with 48 form.

Xiao890, I am sorry if I hurt your feeling. When I see a "raw" talent got wasted, I feel sad and want to scream...:-)

  • Your form is awesome!!!!!!!!!!

  • @ldahlke Thank you!

  • @ldahlke ,

NO, her form is awful, not awsome. She is willing to accept criticism, so do not sugar-coating it. She should watch other performers perform 48 combo style such as Gao Jia Min, Chen Si Tan or master Wang Yanji performed 48 form. Good luck student.

  • @pribadi8406 What I need is your constructive comments, not personal attacks. If you expect me match up with the National champs. I am sorry to disappoint you because I am only one of the small potatoes who like doing Wushu. Besides, who told you that I have not watched those National Champs performed???

  • @xiao890 ,

I am sorry if you feel that I attack you personally. Constructive criticism is relative, young lady :-)...Each movement of this combo 48 form has to be performed in a definitive posture and stroke...there is NO other way of doing it. Even for health and enjoyment...each movement still needs to be organized, synchronized between hands and legs. Competition style is way of our league, too demanding and rules too many. Do NOT be satisfied with either good or bad comments here.

  • @xiao890 ,

If you had watched those champions performed, why did you still upload your vid and opened yourself up for others to criticize your sub-par performance? You knew that your movements were all wrong, the speed incorrect, your mind kept wandering around(we watched it), it was NOT a personal attack on your "person". It was a truthful comment on your PERFORMANCE. Accept it in stride since you opened the pandora box already.

  • @pribadi8406 If I've known everything I've done in this video are wrong...... You wouldn't stand a chance here to crticize me what-so-ever, and I could have been one of the National Champs too. Besides, I uploaded this clip long before I found their clips. Is it still wrong for me to post my clip here??? Does that mean I should dig a hole and hide myself for good???

  • what is the name of the song used in this video?

  • @drakzenarcana

Sorry, I can't remember what is the name of the song.......

  • Xiao890 Ni hao. Your form is smooth and continuous. Now that you know all the moves I'm sure your teacher will continue to assist you in further improvement. You could now begin to focus your mind on the application of energy. e.g during a Peng movement you could imagine 'warding off' an opponent. This internal visualisation and ( therefore) movement of energy will enhance your external presentation & regulate the nervous system because you use the yi to lead the qi. Good luck. Zaijian :-)

  • Thanks for your comments. True that I knew all the moves of this form, but I have not yet mastered the internals. I find that it is really hard to cordinate with the "yi" and "qi". I can pick up moves fast, but I can't do it well. I sure need more practice. Please check out my other Taichi forms whenever you have a chance. Thanks.

  • @jasma98 & xia890,

Forget about what jamsma98 told you about "application of energy"....such NONSENSE. Your whole sequence....too rush and wrong speed! The postures are incorrect. Even each movement you did it wrong, wrong, wrong. If you are my student..I would yell a lot at you :-( I demand a lot from my young students, that's why. Forget about the Yi leads the qi at this moment of your learning process. You still have ways to go. Adjust your postures, correct each movement first.

  • @pribadi8406 It's a good thing xia890 is a sensible person. Maybe you are trying to help but it's coming across in the wrong way. No wonder you "teach" for free. I don't think anyone would pay you to yell at them. You seem to have good intentions but you also seem bitter. Maybe it's because your sifu yelled at you? I'm sorry if that was your experience but you should not yell at your students. (if you have any) Respectful, constructive critique goes a long way. All the best to you. :-)

  • @jasma98 ,

It is just my personality. I am very passionate in my opinion or way of thinking. I always give 110% every time I teach my students. After class, I always felt beat up. My sifu never cared much about my progress, after "passing the grade", he allowed me to teach on condition for FREE. I respect his request. Yelling comes way later after 10 years of teaching. The quality of students varies year by year. The good ones learnt quickly and could accept instruction just like a xerox mach.

  • @pribadi8406 I understand where you are coming from. Your Kung fu must be very good if you always give 110% Actually we are similar in some ways. In 20 years of training with my sifu I think he praised me about 5 times at the most! I also give 110% and will tell my students off if the performance is not up to the standard I know they are capable of. Personally I draw the line at yelling. You should post some vid to convince xiao890 that you would be good to train with. All the best.

  • Overall the performance is well presented. However I think that it is a combined form..isn't, therefore has different presentations through the way over it...Has Yang , Chen and Sun...Iam not sure about Wu. Meanwhile is you are presenting a Yang movement, should be seen as such, as well asChen, etc.....That difference between styles are not quite define( no offense please)..., I suggest you that you should work on the differentiation if my premise is right..Keep on the good work you are doing!

  • No worries. I know there are a lot more that I need to work on with this form. Thank you for your comments and advice. Any kind of advice and comments are welcome. Cheers! =P

  • @xiao890 ,

I like your attitude. Very encouraging to see such a young student who is willing to accept constructive criticism from strangers. Do your form slowly, watch each continuous movement and feel the movement. Watch over your breathing, if it goes too fast while doing your set, tell yourself to relax and take it easy. Always mind your own action. Forget about qi and yi. Dont listen to such nonsense first.

  • @pribadi8406 Thanks. This is more like what I like to see. But don't you forget this clip was recorded more than a year ago. I need to update my video on this form and, I hope you will see some improvement once I get my new update. Please do not yell at me, but talk to me. =P

  • 这个太极拳扭动厉害。怪不得要先提提裤子。

  • 這位太極愛好者師承何人?唔系自學嘛?

  • Why don't you give me some more constructive critiques instead of questioning me who my master was or where I learned it? Thank you.

  • @xiao890 ,

U R correct. No matter who your master is, she or he never teaches you to perform 48 form like this. I know that for sure. BUT I admire your gut for putting this up on youtube eventho' you are ready to show it to the world. But please accept all the criticism graciously. A young performer always have a tendency to RUSH each movement. The delivery of each movement is too fast! Remember this tip. Do not rush it. Do each movement completely, taking care your center of equilibrium.

  • Laonong, what are you trying to say? I don't understand what you were saying!

  • 啊?!?! 太极操???

Does "太极操" mean "taiji f***?" XD

  • it was beautiful I am very impressed

  • Thanks, there are still a lot that I need to work on with this form. =P

  • @xiao890 ,

Remember: Do not rush each movement. Feel each movement, you might find yourself enjoy taichi more so. Do not do your taichi as if it is a house chore that needs to be done quickly. You have most of tools to perform taichi well. Do not know how diligent doing your homework, tho'. Good luck eh...

  • @pribadi8406 To be honest with you, when I was doing any of my taichi forms, I don't really feel like doing taichi. I feel like I was doing "kungfu taichi". =P

  • Actually it is better than I expected. This form moves a lot, you've done a great job for filming it. I am sure the tripot helped a great deal too. It is no match comparing to the American High video... =P

  • Eek! Sorry about the awkward zooming and swaying back and forth of this video. I tried making it as smooth as I could, but I was never trained to do video shoots. But at least I'm still better than that guy who filmed us at American High!
