@JH0217 from what i know, the C major scale is the same as the A minor scale but different roots. it depends on the progression to whether u insert the major or minor scale. technically in this case, playing the A minor scale over the C major root sounds happier and more fitting. i might be wrong tho...
im really not sure how to learn stuff like this ie how a A minor works over a C majour without going into too much theory. Think i will probably have to.
Thanks for these videos, you uploaded here. It helped me a lot. You´re really good teacher. Your video lessons are good motivation to get better. Go on !
@tr0llerguy omg tr0llerguy u fucking queer. I bet you're Islam and fuck your dads dad. you gay guys should fucking die in a hole and cum into your own cunts. This vid is stolen of MY channel and you can just gtfo
Quick question, Im currently using like 10 gage strings on an epiphone LP. and i've played guitars with lower gage strings and i like it a lot better. Is it okay to go down a gage in s trings? And what do most people use?
@Seaannn1 ahhh yeah, most of the guitars in shops (here in England anyway) always have 9 gauge strings on them. I'm not keen on strings that brittle personally, i like nice thick 11s because of their great feel and sound better in tune... pahaha, wooow, what an essay i wrote...
Sweet stuff. Sounds like John Mayer-ish when you switched to the C major progression. Seems like the audio and video are a little out of sinc, but still a great lesson.
So I was wondering: what's the relationship between the G7 chord and these double stop played notes from the A natural minor scale? Is there an easy way to remember it? Well after a quick research I answered my own question. G Mixolydian and A natural minor are the same exact notes, just a different emphasis from the A to the G. Just thinking out loud here in case anybody else was wondering the same thing I was.....
Marty you're an amazing guitarist and teacher. thank you for taking the time to do these videos they help tremendously. but i am tend to stick to blues licks that get repetitive in the "ultimate E run". Can you do a video on extensions or scales, modes that sound good in the key of E. I'm not very technical as you may tell
@misterfuchie Just a word of advice. Dont compare yourself to others when learning. Everyone learns at different speeds. If you are consistent with proper practice, than you will improve. Teaching yourself is one of the hardest ways to learn. Watching someone else that is more advanced than you, and being able to sit and jam with that person will improve your playing. Also, download some backing tracks and play them over and over, and play around in the same scale as the backing track.
Awesome lesson! Your students are incredibly fortunate to have such a great teacher who can simplfy any lesson, how I wish I could spend some time just picking your brain. But still your online lessons are incredibly helpful, Thanks Again!!!
@guitcrzy yes it does... i was at a guitar lesson, and my instructor ordered a lot of weird picks... camel bone, turtle shell, plastic (of course), and buffalo horn. the camel bone seemed to phase in and out... it was pretty cool.
aww man, i hate being one of the first to see it, with the quality. Just kidding marty, I love when i am online with guitar in hand, and then i see Marty JUST put a video up. Perfect man, thats just awesome timing. hahaha. Rawque on!

@naowx09 they are relative major and minor, all major scales have a relative minor on the 6th scale degree.

@bondmaster420 Yup .. I looked it up too. Sometimes music theory just pisses me off. ;-)
Stratomacaster 1 year ago
@bondmaster420 they all come from the key of Cmajor. the chords of C major are: C
Dmin Emin F G7 Amin etc.
so this concept can be used with anyone of these chords as the tonal center or "home base" ???? y'all dig????
