  • This is the butt of some jokes by other Tagalog speakers since a phrase such as nakain ka ba ng pating is interpreted as "did a shark eat you?" by those from Manila but in reality means "do you eat shark?" to those in the south.

Some dialects have interjections which are considered a trademark of their region. For example, the interjection ala e! usually identifies someone from Batangas as does hane?! in Rizal and Quezon provinces.

  • In Teresian-Morong Tagalog, [ɾ] is usually preferred over [d]. For example, bundók, dagat, dingdíng, and isdâ become bunrók, ragat, ringríng, and isrâ, as well as their expression seen in some signages like "sandok sa dingdíng" was changed to "sanrok sa ringríng".

In many southern dialects, the progressive aspect prefix of -um- verbs is na-. For example, standard Tagalog kumakain (eating) is nákáin in Quezon and Batangas Tagalog.

  • Southern (exemplified by Batangas), and Marinduque.

Some example of dialectal differences are:

Many Tagalog dialects, particularly those in the south, preserve the glottal stop found after consonants and before vowels. This has been lost in standard Tagalog. For example standard Tagalog ngayon (now, today), sinigang (broth stew), gabi (night), matamis (sweet), are pronounced and written ngay-on, sinig-ang, gab-i, and matam-is in other dialects.

  • Dialects

At present, no comprehensive dialectology has been done in the Tagalog-speaking regions, though there have been descriptions in the form of dictionaries and grammars on various Tagalog dialects. Ethnologue lists Lubang, Manila, Marinduque, Bataan, Batangas, Bulacan, Tanay-Paete, and Tayabas as dialects of Tagalog. However, there appear to be four main dialects of which the aforementioned are a part; Northern (exemplified by the Bulacan dialect), Central (including Manila)

  • i wonder where did you get the idea that the language is Filipino, so what is their dialect? since the Philippines speaks more than enough dialects, in america they speak English so that is their language, and what is their dialect? in france they speak French so what is their dialect. in china they speak chinese (mandarin) and other forms of communication which is called "DIALECT"

  • swag

  • Thumbs up if your Filipino and proud >:D

  • We are proud to be a Filipino! Thumbs up for me plzz D:

  • We are Filipinos! We are proud to be one!

    Translation:

Estamos filipinos! Estamos orgullosos de ser uno! THUMP UP FOR ME!

  • We are Filipinos! We are proud to be one!

    Translation:

Estamos filipinos! Estamos orgullosos de ser uno!

  • this perfectly depicts a filipino adolescent when his white friends visit

  • proud to be pinoy.

  • eyyyyy !! luv this song ha! swagggggg!! :P

  • look out this sang so nice..............

  • TAGALOG IS NOT A DIALECT!!!! IT IS THE ACTUAL LANGUAGE, FILIPINO IS WHAT AMERICANS CALL TAGALOG!

  • @pinoysccrplyr Not exactly, Tagalog is only one of the dialects, that happens to be the most widely spoken and official language. It's not the only language we call Filipino. But it is true that the rest of the speakers of other dialects must at least know tagalog to communicate with the majority of people. Which is why it's so common.

  • for the translator's notes, umm, there is no language called "filippino" its just all the languges summed up, and the are only 79 languges and tagalog, the national language of philippines, is one of them.

the only thing right is that it is mixed of the native filippino language, spanish, and english.

I AM NOT A HATER, I JUST WANTED YOU TO KNOW YOUR FACTS ABOUT THE GREAT COUNTRY WE CALL PHILIPPINES

  • BEBOT FILIPINOOOOO <3

  • It's funny how the song is about Filipino girls and Taboo was wearing a shirt that states "i ♥ Latinas" haha.

Anywho, I love this song :)

  • A few comments.

    1) Can I fucking shoot you? FILIPINO is the ETHNICITY. TAGALOG is the LANGUAGE. Jesus Christ...

    2) The mom at the beginning xD HOLY SHIT they're all like that! XDD

    3) ...why does Taboo's shirt say I <3 Latinas?

    4) Out of all the males in the Philippines, 10% are "gangster" like that. 40% are straight. The other 50% is bakla/gay.

  • All pinoy moms are like that xD LOVE IT!

  • great party song and also great to bump on the streets when I feel like letting everyone know who's driving, yeah? a few of ya'll older Filipinos might recognize my username first name; don't go apeshit! lol The guy was like a 2nd uncle or some shit, once or twice removed. good shit though, this song
