  • Não consigo pensar em uma musicalidade mais rica que a brasileira!

  • ASSI M QUE FICA LINDA A SUA MUSICA!!!!!

  • Gracinha is the only survivour singer of the old group along with Sergio (she's his wife) and recorded the 2006 version with The Black Eyed Peas and Sergio.

  • I made a mistake below.

Gracinha Leporace began to sing with Sergio & Brazil 66 in 1970. The original line up were Rosinha de Valença and Wanda de Sá, both Brazilians. Then came the American line up with Lani and Janis (Karen Phillips replaced her). And then Gracinha (she replaced Lani) and Karen.

  • In fact I think this is not the original version to 'Mas Que Nada' of Brazil 66. The orignal female singers of Brazil 66 were Gracinha Leporace, Brazilian and wife of Sergio, Rosinha de Valença and Wanda de Sá, all Brazilians. The singers of this recording are not Brazilians (despite singing in Portuguese). The accent is high.

They are Lani Hall - future wife of Herbie Alpert - and Janis Hansen, who learned Mendes' Portuguese material phonetically.

Only Brazilians can notice that, of course.

  • @caravaggio31 wasnt the original by jorge ben?

  • @rb7magnetico Yes, it was. My comment is about the original version of 'Sergio Mendes & Brazil 66' to the song.

  • It's finally good to see some kind of appreciation for Brazil, even if it's for it's language. And, yes, portuguese rocks. It's a shame just some people realize it. Thank you, but now it's time to appreciate Brazil in everything \o/ hahaha
