its a great Japanese song. No matter where there are born, they sing a same song in various language. This is how good music over the broad. This is used to cheer Japans up from Thunami.
@Sesshomaus1fangirl , Yes, the original is always the best, because the original gets attached to memories of the past. It's all feeling and emotion....
this was made on 1963 i think and imagine when we are in 2050 everyone of us will be dead and this song will be gone D: and no one will ever know or remember this song ever again unless some famous person played this song
@vampireluv1231 The original was known as Ue wo Muite Arukō, which is I Look Up As I Walk. I heard when Sakamoto had the song come out in the states, it was changed to Sukiyaki becuase it is a well known Japapnese dish.
Thats what I heard, so dont count this as the real reason.
Loved this! I had long forgotten this version. Do you know who performed it?

These are not the literal translation, but only an American verse to the original Japanese melody.
Although not genuine lyrics, I respect the new lyrics and this video.
Thanks for making

@hoahongtim142 The original song is Japanese, but the title is 上を向いて歩こう.
(I live in Japan... this is a very, very well known song)

AWFUL.....wrong lyrics from the original Japanese version in which this song was written and sung so beautifully by Kyu Sakamoto.

Lyrics are wrong lol It's "Soaked with love are my thoughts of you!"
nursefuzzywuzzy 1 year ago
The lyrics in Japanese are different. It's about looking up while walking so one's tears won't fall in the original version.
