  • component pwns hdmi lolz

  • Endelig noen som er Norsk her i youtube ;)

    Forresten nice video ;)

  • I'm sorry I don't really understand this, buying a hdmi cable makes it look better then scart right? or what else

  • @niekolas

Something like that. Better than even component connection. But the example is 3 years old now and everybody links their PS3 up with HDMI cable.

Only reason for not deleting the video is the steady interest it gets.;-)

  • CLEAR EYES WOW......

  • Your voice: danish+english=Danglish!!

  • Can somebody tell me the name of the male actor in the movie in this video?

(Not the guy being hung, they heavier fella.)

I have seen some of his comedy skits and I thought they were good, and I have no idea what his name is.

  • @iCryonikz

Hes name is Omid Djalili and he is highly intelligent and an exelent stand up comedian as well.

    He is iranian.

  • @jenserikbech Thanks a lot man, I agree, he is very good :)

  • Or you could buy a fucking upscaling player and have the FREEDOM to choose your connection rather than be forced into the HDMI craze.

  • @xXRenaxChanXx craze lol

  • @ultramag88

    Well it's true. =/

PS3 was made to force the HDMI newfaggotry that only HDMI is the only Good media plug.

When properly utilized did you know a store bought HDTV can handle over the air HD broadcasts with a mere' Coaxial antenna? Yet all these devices require a fucking Component or HDMI connection to work.

    hmm.....very very fishy there.

Also noting S-video' and Composites only limits are color and brightness NOT resolution.

I've forced 720p out of S-vid and it worked.

  • In 1080i, which has better quality on the PS3? For gaming not movies

  • I have a 1080p tv do i still need a HDMI cable for better graphics or no?

  • @nikejordan214

Yes you do, the component highest definition it can possible go is 1080i the hdmi can go up to every picture quality including 1080p.

  • i finlly got it working but it has a little black box around it on duble side is there a way for me to zoom in the picture i insgnia tv

  • Nice commentary * NOT * HAHAHA

  • er du ikke fra danmark

  • @TheSunGard Yes i am from Denmark or should I say jeg er fra Danmark? You er fra Danmark too I see.;-)

Funny enough I still receives post about this unwornoutable subjekt, selvom it is more that 2 years old.;-)

  • i tried what you said but i am still having issues with star wars a new hope becouse of subtitles is this the same soft wear update to the ps3 slim jenserikbech

  • @JFL1988 Try the settings on your TV's set-up menu. Another possibility is to change the Display Aspect Ratio of the mpeg in the film itself. Search for DVD Patcher on videohelpDOTcom. Of course it has to be transferred to Your hard drive first. Search for DVDShrink, for that solution.

  • i have the orginal non animorphic star wars trilogy with the two disc set and i updated my ps3 how due i upscale the star wars saga to fit my tv

  • @JFL1988 Insert a 4/3 DVD and go to settings. 3 steps down to "Video settings" Then all the way down to BD/DVD settings. On to DVD Upscales:

    "Off" = disable

"Double Scale"=Will try to fill screen, but often fails, because it keeps aspect ratio=DAR(Display Aspect Ratio)

Normal= upscale, but often fails because it too keeps DAR

Full Screen=First priority to fill screen, even if it has to change DAR-That is what most people want.

It stretches the 4/3 to 16/9. But I think it only works with HDMI.

  • I payed for a low price for the HDMI cable, and it works just fine, from resolution 576 to 1080 in PS3 was a huge difference, now I can easily play much better (BC 2) :D

  • My HDMi cable i paid 7$ and works perfect

  • You was watching the Mummy? I love that movie :P

  • @starwarsfan431

Me too. Happy new Year to You.

  • Did you go to display settings? Their should be a way to fully upscale your quality. Yea, try going to display settings and go to

  • @Roger5970 FAIL. I meant to video settings, then go to BD/DVD Upscaler, then pick the setting you want.

  • u talk like a sad cunt :(

  • Old PS3 fatboys have hdmi port problems. Even SONY officials admit to the hdmi ports on the back have been poorly soldered,

  • @prodigy947

Why "fuck ypur ps3" i have both consoles, and the ps3 pwns in grafics and framerate, but the 360 have a better exploitation system and online features...

Both consoles have their own qualities and default, and are equals, so it doesn't deserve a "fuck..." ;)

    Fuck you insted ;)

  • hdmi > component > composite.

  • HDMI or component?which is better

  • @TheWickedEnd0851

HDMI absolutely. You will always have top performance.

  • Nice vid. I can actually see the difference.

  • @Prodigy947 read my last comment dumbfuck i already said that.

  • @Prodigy947 your a dumbass, if you think u have to pay 1000 dollar for a tv, fuck u

  • @Prodigy947 your fucking stupid 500 to 1000 for a tv? lmao you can get a fucking 24 ' for 300 or less, fuck your xbox, i saw them at gamestop for 100 bucks now cheaper than a fucking wii.

  • well of course..

Component are good for just standard tvs.. which standard tvs were around before HDTVs.. that's why HDMI are only for HDTVs.. to deliver the best picture.. which would be for 720P and 1080P..

Standard Tvs only go up to 480P resolution.. which Component cables push it up to that max... that's good for a standard tv.. lol....

  • LOL, you used iMovie to edit this?

  • @topsyandpip56 Yes topsy, and I saw Your Audacity video and You use Mac too!;-) But how on earth did You afford ScreenFlow? And on the other hand not those screaming seagulls You downloaded?;-)

  • @jenserikbech Heh heh heh, its not a legal ScreenFlow. Let's keep it there.

  • @topsyandpip56 lol so what?

  • @taasing12

Ja så ka' de lære det!;-)

  • i can see the diffrence

  • @nisbet2010 Think about it!;-) even in 360p, You can see the difference between component video and HDMI video.

So if You make a DVD in NTSC 640 x 480, it will be sharper made from a Blu-ray which is 1920 x 1080, than if You make a copy from an avi file. it seams that the sharpness spreads to the lower resolutions.

I have seen nobody mention that fact.

  • @jenserikbech What if you buy a high performance cable from sony that is specifically made for PS3's and cost 25$

  • @Roger5970

it was exactly that cable i used as component cable. very expensive bought in a special Sony store,-and not able to upscale to full quality.

HDMI thats the one to use.

  • To be honest man... This is not English!!

  • T_T

  • there is no difference in hdmi cables atleast price wise a 150$ one will look just as gorgeouse as a 30$ now if you get a high speed one there will be a difference in the speed of the picture as opposed to a none high speed one

  • @mebich1

Don't spend more than 5$ on a HDMI cable. look at amazon.

    Jens

  • @jenserikbech i just got one for 2 bucks off amazon and my comcast cable looks slightly better in component. any ideas?

  • well the difference is not a huuuge improvement either is just a little better the true is that is not really impressive

  • Question: I have a panasonic FULL HD (1080p) camcorder and was just wandering if there is a difference between hdmi and component output when the camcorder is hooked up to the TV. The camcorder came with a component output i really dont feel like going out and bying an hdmi cable. help is appreciated :)

  • @Adrenalinism I don't think that there is a difference. I have had such a camera myself and the output was full quality. My comrade has just bought a Toshiba H20 which is full quality through the component, also.

If You are on Windows You should consider NERO 10 for editing. There are no equivalent to the Nero Vision which comes with the package.

  • u talk funny

  • which is the first movie?

  • @ArturoRdz

The first movie is connected by HDMI digital connection. If that is what You mean?

    Jens

  • @jenserikbech but they are regular DVDs so they are in 480p right?, and last weekend I went to Bestbuy and I saw a lot of different HDMI cables starting at 30 bucks and the most expensive ones are almost 150 dlls, I wonder what is the difference in signal quality and that stuff =|, maybe you know, and thanks for answer me =D

  • @ArturoRdz HDMI cables are best bought via the internet as You can get them really cheap!

If they connect, then the cheap ones are exactly the same quality picture-wise, as the expensive ones.

With digital connections it is :"picture or no picture!" Nothing like the analog cables, where people talked of extra quality in expensive jumbo-cables

  • @jenserikbech k thanks

  • @MassG69

Well thank You for Your thanks! I still wonder:"What are Fema coffins?";-)

  • To me the HDMI picture has the edge on resolution but the component picture is way better on colour and contrast and has more depth. The HDMI picture looks washed out and flat in comparison. This is a classic case of people who put resolution above all else. To my eyes component is vastly superior here. A much nicer all round picture

  • @andwestuk There are many possibilities of adjusting a TV set with colours, contrast. Even hue and saturation and gamma can be adjusted. You cannot konclude anything about what "Is the best" colorwise.

Blu-Ray is the best experience when made right. And Blu-ray demands HDMI. It will only run in an amputaded mode if You use component.

The movie industry is behind that choice of quality.

Of course You can disagree, it is Your right. But ask some friends about their opinion too.

  • Ok I have a problem. My LCD tv has a response time of 0ms. However when I play my ps3 using component cables, the response of the ps3 controller weither I press left or right still slow. Is this because I'm not using a HDMI cable? Please if any1 can repond.

  • @MassG69

I urge You to use a HDMI cable. The PS3 will use much energy on lowering the quality on the output to the analog component cable.

If You search on the internet, You can find very cheap HDMI cables!

    Jens

  • denmark sucks balls

  • hey i have been using HDMI and i need to have component to record games n so i went to plug in my component cables n got it all set up but my audio doesnt work

  • hey i have been using HDMI and i need to have component to record games n so i went to plug in my component cables n got it all set up but my audio doesnt work

  • For some reason the component video quality almost looks like composite.

  • You're right! It is due to the built in "scrambler" to make sure the "analog hole" does not show HD quality.

Without this, the qualities would look very similar.

  • Even though component looks good in HD,I can still tell the difference. What's the point? Now,believe it or not, there are rumors of a digital component connection, but unfortunately,if it does exist it's a bit rare.

  • you are danish, i can hear it!!!LOL!!!!

  • Comment removed

  • @wilsimen haha danish ppl sucks at english.. im danish too :)

  • hi, i have a problem ive been using HDMI with my ps3 ever since, but now i try to use my component cables and it doesnt want to work.. any solutions?

  • @iMacAppReviews

You have to make the adjustment to "component" while you have HDMI working. Change the cables and restart and it should work.

  • how do i do that?

    thanks for the response!

  • does anybody know how to switch form av to hdmi plz answer

  • do u mean your video settings.. just hold down your power button till it beeps and shuts down.

  • ps2? why are you buying an hdmi cable for a PlayStation 2? it can't even support component cables. it use's the regular composite cables. there is no such thing for a ps2. waste of money.

  • You're a fool. Look it's being displayed at an upscaled resolution, no PS2 can do that, only PS3. Also, PS2 can support Component cables for a better picture, just not HDMI.

  • component goes up to 1080i, hdmi goes up to 1080p, to be honest they are both the same shit

  • Component has gone to 1080p for me. And no they're not. Same resolution, but different way of displaying the resolution.

  • @JukemDrawles89 uh, no they're not. If you have a good enough TV that supports 1080p HDMI has a much better picture. If you're watching something in 720 you might not see it as much, but no, they are not the same. Trust me. I've done extensive tests with my PS3 and 1080p JVC TV. HDMI is much better.

  • it all depends on the size of your television, if it's under 30 inches there is no need for 1080p

  • and yeah 1080p is better than 1080i same goes for 720p

  • Du er den værste i verden til at tale engelsk!

  • Rachel Weisz looks beautifull on both tough :P

  • hehehe everything looks more red with component...weird.

  • can u play 1080P games with the component cable?

  • I wouldn't think so. Not in the best quality. Look to RAULSanchez08's comment.

  • yes u can, it just wont be the same quality..

  • @godofwar1002 yeah u can

  • @godofwar1002 u can but the game will not be displayed in its optimum resolution (1080p)

  • @godofwar1002 Yes, actually you can.

  • hdmi is much better. i bought it today and then i played cod 6. it is much better

  • u cant get hdmi for ps2

  • no, he probably meant ps3 lol

  • ye i just wanted to correct him incase

  • hehe det er vist en danskere.... Hehe Danish underlines

  • suck shit all of you i got my HDMI cable for

    $27 ( $15 American)

    I got the best price!!!!

  • i got it today for 24,95 euro

  • @akilis1234

ich habs heute für 20€ bekommen =)

  • sorry, i got mine for 3.99 american woot

  • i got mine for 5 bucks

  • You dont see any difference because you dont have a full HD TV

  • maybe the quality of the camera is not that great. But you know what I mean. HDMI is better

  • a lot better graphic quality, better sound quality, no more lots of wires.

  • dude why are u against new technology? how old are u?

  • The mummy! Awesome movie.

  • A lot of the newer TVs can upscale very good now. On my PS3 I can not tell if the upscale is off or on. My friend that has a older TV set you can see that you really need to turn on the upscale on the PS3 for his TV set.

  • how do you turn on the upscale? and what happens when you upscale it?

  • It's in the display settings you can also turn it on when watching a DVD. just do a seach on youtube if you can not find a video to help you send me a private message and I'll make a video for you.

  • so is upscaling a good thing or a bad thing? also i have standard tv and some of my games look pixely. should i buy a component cable?

  • upscaling is both good and bad depending the tv and cables u use, so u got a standard tv, so buy a component cord, but if you have HD TV get a hdmi cable, it upscales the picture, but the hdmi cable fixes and prevents the pixels from getting blurry

  • Yes up-scaling is good for HDTV sets. Up-Scaling oonly works with HDMI cables or DVI. Component does not support up-scaling for copy right reasons.

There is one DVD player that does up-scaling over componet but I do not know the name of it.

Most new TV sets can do up-scaling by them selfs and do not need the DVD player to do it.

  • its the same as when you zoom in to a image, the pixels look blurry, same in video but its less noticeable

  • so is upscaling a good thing or a bad thing? also i have standard tv and some of my games look pixely. should i buy a component cable?

  • Dansker hahahh :xD . Im from sweden but understand ya

  • i see a big diffrence because my pc is latest and best desktop out it uses blu-ray

  • the hdmi seemed to be more brighter and a bit clearer imo

  • Even through youtube you can see in this comparison that component is clearly NOT the way to go.

  • man i was busy watching the movie i did not even pay atention the the actuall video! what the name of the movie it looks cool?

  • I totaly agree. In the commentaries on the DVD they rediqule "Omid Djalili" the funny arab. -I think they do not even mention his name!?

But you can't hold a talented man down, I start seeing his name pop up, here and there.

    Greetings

    jens

  • The mummy is one of the best entertaining films ever for the graphics and effects of its time.

  • Excuse me friend.

    What model is your tv?

  • Plasma LG PC1RR. 720p

    Now replaced with

    LCD Samsung LE 40A766. 1080p

But the LG was a good TV with built in Hard drive for recording. 2 analog tuners though, where the LCD has 2 digital tuners.

    jens

  • wow strong dansih accent

  • Dude, he is clearly danish, you can hear it right away xD

  • Don't long for it! Implement it!;-)))

    Have a nice day

    Jens

  • component lets you record dvd's easily, HDMI has some protection system

  • Man kan godt hører du er dansker det er faktisk meget sjovt :D

  • Shibaaaaaaaaaa...!

  • good video

  • Once again Denmark. Soon You all will be speaking danish!;-)))

    Have a nice day "m"(uhammad?)

  • Hey!jenserikbech which country are you from! You have an accent!COol

  • is that omid djalili

  • Yes as well as I remember, that was his name. He was exellent in the small role he had, but almost not mentioned. I think he deserved credits for that performance.

  • are you from america? in britain omid djalili is a famous comedian and is very popular

  • No I am from Denmark and I have only seen tha man on this film.

  • i just bought a HDMI cable and i tested on my xbox360. i cant see any big differences between HDMI and component. HDMI pictures are better and smaller than component, but the component is more colorful.

  • kult,på norsk jo =P

  • Dansk!

  • Why would you want component cable if you have HDMI? Component cable have too much static.

  • The film is a year old now. At that time there were people with televisionsn that did not have a HDMI.

They tried to compensate by using component. But to day this video do not talk to very meny people.

  • he is showing you the difference remember?

  • kunne hurtigt høre dit dansk accent:)

  • The Mummy

    Good Movie

  • I do not think you will get 720p, but You can use the cable that comes with PS3, which is a SCART cable that fits Your tube-TV. And with the many things it can do You will be very happy with it.

One thing though. Get some heavy insurance on it as some people like myself experience a faulty Blu-Ray drive after 1 year and 1 month!

  • so on the component is it more colorful?

  • Lmfao SCART XD

    LOL Start

  • i have a tube tv but if has the plugs for the component cable can it play 720p or something like that

  • Where did you go to change the HDMI position to component?

  • Component= COLORFUL

    HDMI= NOT SOO MUCH COLOR

  • Thank you Joe!;-) But my PS3 just let me down! When I had it 1 year and 1 month the laser in the Blu-Ray drive went black!

No warrenty! Sony has only 1 Year. So when anyone buys that machine be sure to get as much warrenty as You can buy!

  • I can tell You that an upscaled DVD from a PS3 looks very, very good. You try to rule out "upscaling" technology entirely!;-) You do not succeed! Do You know that? The PS3 upscaling is the best!

  • you are lying. you say

"The PS3 upscaling is the best!"

But what you should say is

"The PS3 is the best, that includes upscaling"

    good vid!

  • All that means is that the up-scaller in your TV isn't very good.

  • No matter how excellent Your TV's upscaler is, You will not be alloved to play Blu-Ray over the component video connection in full HD!

The connection demands HDCP encryption to allow full HD quality.

  • Through HDMI it's not HD either.

The simple fact is that the image on the DVD is only 480 (or 576 if it's PAL). Through HDMI the player scales the image to HD size, then sends it to the TV, through component the image is sent to the TV, then scaled to HD size.

There is no way with any scaler, in the TV or the player, that you can actually increase the resolution of the source material. All you have is a different scaling algorithm.

  • you talk funny! In The Gud Way!!!

  • Its the first one.

  • Yes who says "no?";-)

  • so if my tv only goes to 720p i shouldnt get a hdmi cable for my ps3?

  • 720p is 1280 x 720 and that is high Definition. It means that the PS3 will not give you 1280 x 720 upscaled DVD performance.

Further more Blu-Ray will only play through HDMI.

Any HDMI cable will do as long as it can connect. There are no cable differences like in analog connections.

Buy a cheap one from the internet.

  • that is not true, Blu Ray's play through normal leads on normal TV's also, but as with DVD's will play in green screen via the RGB channel but most CRT TV's have various channels so just switch over. (I know...because I have an old TV :D)

what You mean is that Blu Ray will only play in HD through HDMI cables, the PS3 is capable of outputting 1080p but only if the disc or game has that option (most ps3 games are 720p)

  • The Mummy.

  • High quality component cables and fiber optic sound produce the same results as HDMI. 1080p is 1080p.......if there is a difference the human eye can't tell! Believe me. If you have a choice go with HDMI...but ONLY because you don't want the in...Don't let a salesman tell you otherwise!!!
