  • I sing in a community choir and we always stand for performance as you make a better sound.

  • not everyones customs are identical. God said "make a joyous noise" he didnt specify if one must stand or not.

  • Epic moment! Thank you Händel!

  • We alway stand too

  • Is everyone familiar with the story of how the (earthly) kingin Europe, upon hearing the concert work performed for the very first time, was visibly moved in a way that caused him to stand? (And, if I remember correctly, in that era, the respectful thing for all of his subjects to do was ALSO to stand at that point and follow their sovereign's lead). Also, remember that the Hebrew compound word used here (hallelujah) literally means "Praise God", the very King of Kings. :)

  • Why isn't anybody standing?

  • Right

  • The habit of standing up is very common in the USA, but not so much in other countries. For example, in Norway no one (or only the Americans) would stand up during a preformance of the Hallelujah Chorus.

  • That is really some great acoustical environment for these recordings. Bigtime congrats. Sounds great.

  • can anyone get me the bass part for this??? My old high school always has a winter concert and they ask all past members of the choir that came to participate in singing and I'm a bass and I've completly forgotten the bass part. So if you could do the previous mentioned, I'd be grateful.

  • Sure, post your email on my channel and I'll send you the Bass Part music piece and mp3....if you still need it.

  • Look it up and they have the moving SATB sheet music for it, on youtube.
