He was a nice guy, he came across a lot better and more active in person than he did on tv (which was the cause of his downfall really). He's working on his autobiography now apparantly.

Oh, and I'm a staunch Liberal Democrat, I'm very active within the party. (Just met the leader of the Scottish Liberal Democrats on Saturday)

how did you get into the Liberal Democrats, i mean how did you become active within the party. My constituency is Lib Dem, with Conservatives as the main opposition.

Well my dad spoke to my local councillor and told her that I was into the Lib Dems, she then asked if I wanted to help her leafletting. From there things grew and I became more and more involved with other big candidates. If you ever want to help all you need to do is email your local councillor or MP, you have no idea how much they appreciate any help! :) And it looks good on your CV.

The Labour party was never a true socialist party. It never believed in the overthrowing capitalism but in a more social-democratic approach within the Westminster Model

communism and socialism r u two different things my friend. democratic socialism for example belives in voting communism in. national socialist(nazi) use a nations military. international socialism used rebels and terrorists. they all have the same goal but different methods.

The Lib Dems were created from part of the SDP :) Baroness Shirley Williams who helped found the SDP, is now one of the Lib Dems most respected politicians.
