A good pull! I have the same UCF11 Celsior, the torque converter is very soft on the launch and 1st gear is super tall, but it pulls quite well from 2nd gear and up, and it makes 28mpg all day on the highway at 120kph
Excellent choice of car. I've found that the ECT function is largely useless because it has a habit of holding gears for too long and does not downshift quick enough under hard braking. The four-speed automatic transmission can be controlled like a semi-automatic using your shift lever.
Pressing the Overdrive button to off locks the car out of fourth gear while in Drive. Of course 2 for second gear, L for first. You have complete control over the shifting. It just takes getting used to.
Also, I've found these to be the maximum speeds per gear for the A341E transmission in the UCF10. Hopefully this will be useful to you when choosing gears yourself with the lever.
1 78km/h
2 135km/h
3 210km/h
4 280km/h (est.)
Tip: The car gives you one second to blip the throttle beginning about a quarter-second after you downshift. About 50% throttle blip is enough to rev-match. This will help reduce the violent jolt when the converter closes in the new gear because of their tall ratios.
yeah thats what i thought cuz i commented on CanadaCraig's video taht my cousin has a LS400 and its like yours but my uncle has a 1996(i think) LS400 and its slower like CanadaCraig's so idk whats up between the cars
