Note the reference to '100 years peace' - seemingly a reference to the Anglo/American war. So ironic cosidering that they were on the eve of the greatest bloodbath the world had ever known.
Just found out it was electric and will be on show from September 17 in the ballroom of the Queen's Hotel, Crystal Palace, south London
the Baby Cadillac was capable of about 15 miles on one charge at speeds of up to 12mph.
Bought for £62 by Queen Alexandra. Though still owned by the Norwegian royal family, it is on permanent loan to the Norsk Teknisk Museum in Oslo which has agreed to its appearance in England.
I liked the shadow of the 'cameraman', doing the camera by hand.. :) At least he didn't have to worry about the batteries running out.. or memory space.. :) :)
"100 years of peace" it says between the two flags at the end. A year later the British and Germans were shelling the crap out of each other. If only they'd known beforehand. They could have smuggled Archduke Franz Ferdinand out of Bosnia with a cunning plan involving a baby Cadillac driven by a midget, and saved millions of lives.
Excellent tracking and paning of the hand cranked cine camera. Also loved the under cranking oof the camera for the police chase scene. Love to know what happened to the car.
Thats better than the car I had when I was a Kid! The last shot with a sign saying 100 years of peace was a thinking point - it was just 1 year before the start of WW1.
I believe it might have a different meaning. Notice that the American and British flags are together. It might be referring to 100 years of peace between THOSE two countries since the War of 1812.

@Choowbz That's funny. As I watched this I thought, it must be an electric car as I don't know how small child would be able to drive it. Good stuff!

That woman at the door tells in her face what I am thinking: how could children small enough to fit this car have the proper judgement to drive it?
Oh, the unexcelled optimism of the Industrial Age!

Perhaps someone should ask the Norwegian Royal Family. You never know there may be a member reading this?

It would be great to find this car.

I have emailed the Norwegian Embassy in London with the link. You never know they may be able to suggest a line of enquiry.
