Can someone correct me if im wrong isnt the busa suppose to be the fastest bike in the world. So why would someone buy a nearly 80k bike when the busa is somewhere around 15k
@terrell568 actually the fastest bike right now is the BMW 1000rr which is around 17k to 26k.... and the highest end ducati is 25k at the most but that's for the sp model. I think that's about right... but if anyone has anymore info that i could provide please do. :)
@terrell568 True however the hayabusa or any bike that has a 1300cc engine is too heavy... the 1198 weighs about 427lbs while the hayabusa wieghs 550lbs, with only a 10-20 hp increase favoring the hayabusa. but if you think the power to weight ratio you are almost at the same level.... also the heavier the less manueverable the bike is, and the hayabusa to be honest is really good for the drag strip and not the track.... but remember this is just an OPINION from another bike lover.
@SamUra101 The Hayabusa is NOT designed for the track!! The Ducati bikes in question are far more adapted to the track. I own a Ducati 999R AND a current model Hayabusa, it isnt fair to compare them, they are chalk and cheese. The busa is powerful, smooth, versatile all rounder style of bike easy to ride and quite fast in corners if you are a good rider but nothing will beat it in speed alone or top end. The Ducati on the other hand is very exotic, fast handling and agile best cornering bike
@terrell568 Teams don't just "buy" bike to race moto gp. The bikes they race are extremely low production prototypes that are designed and developed specifically to race in the series. And for what it's worth, their 800cc engines make quite a bit more power than a Hayabusa!

So your car isnt idling. If you were to mess with the TPS sensor a little bit it would idle higher and you would have a "valid" argumen. it is 800 cc now. 06 was the last year of the 989 gp bike. both of those riders are nasty and i know rossi won but what i noticed this year was that stoner usually pulled the fastest prelim lap but crashed out cause he must have been pushing to hard.
The Duc's the being proudest of the loudest, I'd say. Was in the paddocks for the Malaysian MotoGP and it's the Duc that gave me ringing ears for 2 days!

So your car isnt idling. If you were to mess with the TPS sensor a little bit it would idle higher and you would have a "valid" argumen. It is called high idle or cold idle. Also you can set Idle to any rpm by manipulating a car or bikes computer. xgotarox was right in saying it was revving. Because idling is a steady constant rpm.
I learned this at MMI. Just cause throttle is closed means nothing.
It has a rev circuit same as some f1 cars.

True. The mechanic was manually and repeatedly revving the engine. They were warming the engine. They only use the rev limiter when leaving or entering the pits.

lets look up revving and idling, read the definitions carefully, and then say its irrelevant. A bike, or any engine that is turned on, at closed throttle is not REVVING, it is IDLING. A bike with 1% throttle open past idling position, is revving. Now I know what you meant, but you seem like you're getting smart with shit you obviously know nothing about, so I figured I'd offer you a seat.

It would be alright if you just rode it carefully, even though it's stupidly fast you can still take it easy on it, iv'e only rode up to a 600cc suzuki and id jump on it although id clutch out really slow haha.

it is 800 cc now. 06 was the last year of the 989 gp bike. both of those riders are nasty and i know rossi won but what i noticed this year was that stoner usually pulled the fastest prelim lap but crashed out cause he must have been pushing to hard.
i havea yama and a duc so i root for both :)
