I live in the east end of Lakewood (not for long, ha!) and I can vouch for how ghetto it's getting over here. It's kind of depressing considering how long I wanted to get a house on this street. It used to be a great neighborhood. It's still not as bad as it is about five minutes east of here on Detroit Rd. but the ghetto trash are definitely working on that.

Man, Lakewood used to be fine before the Apocalyptic Section 8. Now we got some bad people in Lakewood, it used to be such a nice town. I don't feel safe in Lakewood anymore, i'd rather live in a nicer town like Avon.

Lakewood is still a nice place to live in most areas, but it is not the same when I was growing up in the '70s and '80's. Section 8 needs to leave!! I hope the police are still on the ball like they were in the good ole days!!

Still very beautiful I live on Clifton and Brockley a big corner house! I can see the lake from my house and I live among all the huge big luxurious homes I am blessed to have one. Not as luxurious as some but I have a 5 bedroom colonial. It is fine on Clifton past Bunts and on LAke on EdgeWater still some areas nice in the southern parts but nicest by my home. Class of 99' the other day was a drug bust on Edwards towards clifton. Drugs are everywhere. not ugly like Ghetto of Cleveland and safe

Lakewood is in fine shape for singles, couples and very young families, but there is no doubt it is getting worse from the east side over. Look at the crime rates. Some the posts that follow this one are a perfect example of what's going wrong.

Hird between Clifton and Detroit sucks ass, especially by those apartments. I used to live right by there on Detroit. I have no problems walking around Lakewood...except for that stretch of Hird. I know people who live in those apartments too...and they hate it there.

Have you been to Lakewood? It's hardly drab..it's one of the most bohemian cities in Northeast Ohio. I moved here from Los Angeles 3 years ago and I'm never going back to California. And our unemployment rate ain't great, but it's way lower than Cleveland proper.
