So many memories....remember clear as a bell getting a PS1 for xmas 1998 and playing on this game for hrs afterwards...still love these old PS1 racing games...also was a huge fan of Toca Touring Cars 1 and 2.

This game had analog control and vibration function before the Dual Shock controller was even released. I used to play this game all day long with my cousin. I want Sony to make a new PS3 version. This game would be so nice in HD with better physics.

I remember when I thought this game had good graphics. After playing games like Halo Reach, and GTA IV and then look back on games like this, all you can say is Damn.

@Thecharger17 Well, Halo Reach isn't about Racing so programming is different into Graphics of different Genres. "GTA IV" was too releastic that it took them that long to make that Game and it even gives me Eye Strain of the Graphics itself.

I'm looking at this Game, "Rally Cross". Great Graphics for a PS1 Game. Past Games still have it's Graphics, even this one as well. Of course, not the best graphics racing PS1 Game. That goes to Gran Turismo.

@Samrulez91 Well you need to try again! I literally just fired the game up in my PS2 and played it with a Dual Shock 2 controller in analog mode. Just hit the button and the red light will come on. It was one of the first PS1 games where the developers thought well enough ahead to include it. I deleted my first post by accident, couldn't figure out how to reply to you correctly.

When you asked me that question I just looked at the back of the box, it doesn't say "Analog Control Compatible" like other games that use it so I assumed it didn't without playing the game again, sorry.

@insanecow0 It's not awful, trust me. It just came out before the analog controller hit the shelves. Most people don't seem to know this, but Rally Cross is analog compatible, and it really makes a huge difference in gameplay. The same can be said for Ace Combat 2, which can use analog or the twin flight stick controller. I know because I'm geeky enough to have one:)

Thank god this was free for PS+ members. I'd never spend 6 bucks on this, especially when I can get Tomb Raider, Gex, Street Fighter Alpha, and Rayman for the exact price.

I was SOOO pissed when they dumbed down the physics for rallycross2.. All those little bitches "oh it's too hard!! I flip over too much!". They ruined it. This rallycross was one of the most underrated racing games of all time imho. PSX RALLYCROSS 4eva!! Oh, and it's MUCH better w/ the dual analog controller btw.

@bliglum I agree, Rally Cross 2 was horrid in comparison to the first game. I'm glad someone else figured out that analog mode does work for it, too.

I loved this game... I feel so sad that I sold it again for another game... which I didn't even like.

The suspension of the cars was realistic and the game was allot of fun.

Haha, I remember playing the demo a lot back in the days. I had the same issues as you and came in last place every single time, but still I had fun. I remember loving the cool physics on the cars and how they started to break down in terms of visible damage.

Good quality Video. Did you use a USB adapter to capture your video? Also, I know you said you hadnt used a PS2 controller for a while before making this, but perhaps you shoulda done some practice races before making this video? lol, no worries though. I am about to download this game off the PS3 Store.

To capture the video I used my Archos 605 WiFi with a DVR station.
