led lights take 100x LESS power than a standard light bulb, which if u are to dumb to realize, THOSE dont take a lot of power, while on a standard 3.v battery multiply the voltage needed for a 0603 led or 5mm led, its about .000083 power of the battery, which is about roughly.....3 to 4 seconds lol if u would like to prove me wrong *which u cant* plz show me a video of your brothers led config and lights :)

@blinkSN4ev This version of the PSP doesn't have a umd drive so no you can'y play umd games on it, however you can play iso's on it, hence having 32GB of storage. You can play games with the led lighting on. The newer version of this psp keeps the UMD and uses a photofast CR-5400 memory adapter which is a lot smaller, but still has 32GB of space.

To be honest, it doesn't use much power. I've never noticed a difference in battery life as these leds require a very small amount of power to work. If i were to sell this, it could go for £180-£200 or so.

I painted the trim myself. Took a few attempts to get it right. I used black tamiya spray paint for most of them, but the best paint to use is vinyl spray paint. people use it to paint the interior plastic of cars. It's a lot easier to use as you don't have to sand or prime the object your painting. Plus if the plastic is gloss then it wil stay glossed as the paint soaks into te plastic. it's found in most autoshop deallers.

If you were to have both of them in a psp, imo it would look like a Christmas tree. But thats just me. I'd say Blue/White, Blue/Green, Red/Orange Green/White or Red/Purple. Just a few ideas.

I'd admit the leds are more for aesthetics, But the Extra speaker does help when you chilling to music outside with mates on a hot day.

And the extra 32gb worth of space is really handy. I use iso backup's of my games so i don't miss the UMD drive.

Correct, you do need to make a hole in the side of the UMD bay but you don't need to solder anythink to get this to work.

No, it can't use umd's now. It uses my iso game backups. The total cost of making this psp was around £100 or so, not including the psp itself.
