Let that man work. His faith is his alone. It's his responsibility to uphold his standards and faith. And that is more than possible for someone with a strong faith base. You have no idea how many lives he may be bring to Christ on this tour. God calls his believers to all situations and scenarios to bring people to him. As a Christian drummer myself, this is an opportunity I would have taken as well!!!!!

Using a talent is not based on religion...it is based on skill. All this talk about Christian music and we as Christians use Secular Sampling to promote it to the new generation... besides music is, regardless of religion, a universal instrument of expression...we are all instruments in our own right...tools used by a purpose of design...just respect his talent...this shouldn't be up for religious debate...

I guess the church should completely distance themselves from the world? If so who's saving souls? I have a dance company with many races and cultures. Some people know nothing about Jesus Do I only let in saved people, I think not. They have to be exposed to some type of Light, if not there living in the dark. Granted people should have boundaries. There are many people who are called to step out of the church and use there talents. I am a dancer and like spanky my ministry is outside of the church. The artist shows commercial that I'm in are not with gospel artist not christian based events. Spanky comes from strong roots in christ and has his own relationship with God Instead of stating your opinion why not pray his spiritual strength in being strong enough to enter into an atmosphere that you obviously wldnt, the church is saved already

The one thing that I can say that is good about all this is that in between the "judgement" of Mr McCurdy, which is ridiculous - especially in light of what HE says about judgement - we are all discussing and sharing knowledge of the WORD and HIS teachings, instead of insulting each other and cursing each other out. This is actually a good thing. Caution, to the "christians" in this discussion, remember, you are a representative of his word so dont try to mix your wisDUMB in with HIS wisdom.

very interesting discussions guys - being a pro drummer I have thought about this a lot too - let me ask this, everyone who works - is your boss or company a christian?? If not then should you be working for them?? In my opinion this is his job - and it also gives him a fantastic opportunity to witness to the people around him by his actions etc a light in the darkness. If christians run and hide from everyone who isnt saved what hope is there for them?

What I will say is that when you take your energy and apply it to something that is geared toward strengthening the hand of the wocked, YOU ARE OUT OF ORDER, and I am not even a Christian. Any sin you commit hurts His heart.... Your right the word never lied, but there is a proper way of reading the word and understanding we are no longer under "law" but under "grace" and if we "christians" would actually be more "Christ Like" we may maje more of difference than turning people off w/ comments like yours!
