I love Yoda. He's very sweet and very wise. I was a small child when I first saw this film and I was frightened of him, but I was too young to understand it. It was many years later that I read the books by Carlos Castaneda, but I remembered Yoda and wondered if Geroge Lucas hadn't been inspired by them when he invented the character and the scenes with him in.
@Anointed4Revival the force is the electric fluid and the magnetic fluid...not the holy ghost, but if you Think the force is from a book that GOD wrote him SELF then...shit man, i don't know lol
@Huzmo Yoda's point was that we are bound by the Force in non-physical ways, which is awesome considering that concept takes the idea of life and gives it a philosophical will. Lucas has Qui-gon saying that Force-sensitivity is determined by microscopic life forms in our physical cells. Explain to me how that isn't contradictory.
Truly, I say to you, if you have faith and do not doubt, you will not only do what has been done to the fig tree, but even if you say to this mountain, 'Be taken up and thrown into the sea,' it will happen.
Mind you people this force is real indeed, it is the power of the Holy Spirit, it is every where, for Jesus said whatsoever is impossible with men is possible with God.
@Anointed4Revival Um no. The "Force" has always gone hand in hand with Buddhism and other spirituality systems. If the Jedi believed and worshiped a deity, then we would be talking about Monotheistic (one) or possible Polytheistic (more than one) Religions. This isn't the case with the Force.
i have to ask but yoda makes it seem like anyone can be a jedi if you actully beleive in the force and have faith and let it guide you and accept it as your ally. but in the perqueles was it set up so that appartly only random people could use the froce. cuz i am confused on if the perqueles changed that princple or if you truely had faith and patnetices and deadication u could learn to be a jedi.
@michaelandjennyshow Amen, dude. As much as I like the CGI use to show Yoda's awesome lightsaber skills, the original trilogy's puppet always seemed the most realistic to me. Don't even get me started on the puppet they used in Episode I, though, that whole movie was a waste anyways.
at 2:25 and so, that thought makes me think of the Matrix where Neo and Morpheus are sparring "Do you believe that my being stronger, or faster, has anything to do with my muscles, in this place? Do you think that's air you're breathing now?"
Jesus said, "I am the light that shines over all things. I am everything. From me all came forth, and to me all return. Split a piece of wood, and I am there. Lift a stone, and you will find me there." -- Gospel of Thomas #77
Be disappointed not dear Yoda for Luke has just raised a 13600 kg T-65 X wing star fighter at least 1 meter up from the swamp hmmmm for a beginner not bad A complete success is he , To improve the numbers now would be all that's left to do.
@metapatriot but yoda is disappointed because luke did not believe he could do it, even if he could have done, he did not believe in his own abilities.
I would love to have a ability to use the force and be able to move things with my mind. But would not our arms or legs get weaker? in sense of evolution. I mean if we no longer need our hands or legs to move things around, evolution would take them out. or make 'em weaker. It's just a thought that I had the other day. If we had the force we would have to use it in very rare occasions to be able to keep our body as it is, in means of evolution I repeat,.
In 10 years, Lucas is going to reedit this scene to replace puppet Yoda with CGI Yoda. And he's going to add a reference to midichlorians. You'll see.
This always brings tears to my eyes. Qui-Gon also shared with us a very supportive quote of the LOA. "Always remember -- your focus determines your reality."
@AGTLI You are a fucking tool for taking george lucas seriously in the last three movies... George Lucas was drowning in his shit when he wrote the last three movie. These movies were the best. The force is energy, not bacteria in you blood stream. Fool.
@AGTLI The new movies were absolute shit. And I'm not some old man who feels nostalgia, im only 19. The whole engaging part of the old movies was the realization that the Jedi weren't mindless warriors, but methodical beings who overcame obstacles with their inner selves. This whole scene praises to Yoda being ultimately powerful using the force not battle. Quoting the new movies against these is like saying the newest Indiana Jones movie was a legit successor to the old ones.
@Slyboogy07 Eps. 1-3 are par of the story. You may not like them but what happened in them is what happened. Yoda DID get outdone by a Sith despite using every Force power he knew of (including FL). The Force is a poor ally for a Jedi, the Sith are better at maximizing it's power.
think of how many millions have seen star wars and passively overlooked this. i'm always surprised how many truths are presented through movies. i'm sure you'll find lots in avatar too. thanks for sharing this.
not one word uttered by yoda is false. Every statement he makes rings as true as daylight, we can learn so much about the nature of reality and the universe just from this short clip.

YODA: Luminous beings are we, not this crude matter! *referring to Luke's body during his lecture about the Force*
QUI-GON: Midi-chlorians are a microscopic life form that resides within all living cells.
... George, do you even WATCH your own movies?

@seamoretwillnant The midichlorians give us knowledge about the force, they do not create it.
