I´ve been searching further and at least I´ve learned one thing: the instrument of the solo is a lute. Several similar pieces (as short instrumental interludes between songs) can be found, for example, on the album "Sufíes de al-Ándalus" by Ibn Báya, Omar Metioui and Eduardo Paniagua.
Anyway if you happen to find that particular one in the future, I´d love to know.

@sayyid14 "Arabs" did not even make up 5% of the population of the Iberian Peninsula back then, the bulk of Muslims in medieval Iberia were just natives who converted to Islam, and on top of them the majority of Muslims (both native and foreign alike) were eventually expelled by the Inquisition and the Catholic authorities, so it is quite impossible that any significant number of Spaniards can be derived from "Arabs".

When the mosque was built in Cordoba a church was destroyed and a Roman temple. In fact many columns of the ex-mosque came from the Roman temple. i think the Roman temple should be rebuilt within the area of the ex-mosque. It would be a beautiful addition to timeless Cordoba

There are many things which can help to bridge the gulf between Christians and Muslims eg build a beautiful big church, a Hindu temple and a Buddhist shrine in Mecca, let non-Muslims be allowed to be buried in Saudi Arabia and stop women from being owned by their fathers or husbands.

So should the temple be rebuilt in view of the fact that not only the St Vincent church was destroyed to build the former mosque but that the Roman temple was cannibalised and some of those columns were from the temple?
Whilst the temple should adhere to its historical design in order not to waste any craftsmanship Islamic motifs could well be inserted in the temple structure.

Christians and Jews had to pay special taxes as to keep their faith, and for many centuries were obbliged to convert to Islam or to leave their native land. Of course it was the most developed State in Europe of its time in many many aspects. But it is not true there were religious tolerance. Read more about the Martyrs of Córdoba (St. Eulogius, for instance) of the progroms against Jews. Christians neither were tolerant too. Both civilizations, Christian and Muslim, were intolerant towards the "other"

This monument are not arab muslim, is hispanic-muslim. Andalucía was land of roman emperator and the architecture was very developed before the Islam arrived in this land. With previous knowledge and muslim influences created this beautifuls and greats monuments. Im from Málaga, ancient kingdom of Granada and i am very proud of my history.
