I think it is genetic. Here are my reasons: 1. My grandma has it, my dad and his brother have it, I have it. 2. There are a lot of cases with brothers. 3. Explains why it affects boys more than girls. 4. I have also noticed that parents act just like the kids like my dad. THIS IS MY OPINION I work with kids, these are things I noticed a lot.

autisim is multicausal and can happen in vitro and up to the 3 years of age. Cuerrnently there is a debate on whether vaccinations may induce autism, but ithink that a tough decision to make, beause do not be mistaken vaccinations are VERY important to overall health in development. It does not happen BECAUSE of drinking and smoking, it can be correlated- as in one can make the other happen but isnt necessarily a problem.
Drinking and smoking while pregnant is generally overhyped actually it isnt AS horrible as they tell you it is. If it is in vtiro autism is related to a number of other conditions which cause differenet brain formation including left handedness and believe it or not homosexuality. there are alot of studies about this stuff generally most of these persons employ their right side of the brain more than the left and it comes out in different condions. im a psychologist id be glad to answer more
My Autie's mum didn't do either while pregnant - but I have noticed that all the Aspies I've come across had oxygen deprivation at birth, even if their birth only involved a forceps delivery.
That is not the cause, for a lot of parents of these kids don't drink or smoke. My mom didn't and I still got it. The two possible not for sure causes are either vaccine or genetics.
does your son have vestibular disturbances now and again? that may explain the spinning and rolling around now and again, from what i've read up on anyway. :o he's cute!
my son's name is noah too. he wasoriginally diagnosed with NLD, but he was recently referred to the center for autistic spectrum disorders at children's hospital in dc, because they think he may have aspergers. what type of doctors was he seen by? my son has been seen by a psychologist and neuro-developmental pediatrician chief of childrens. he's on the waiting list for occupational therapy and will be seen by the neuropsychologist at childrens for the testing.
Noah was evaluated somewhat by his pediatrician. Then he underwent formal evaluation at the Children's Hospital in Denver, CO. in the Child Development Clinic. He saw the top doctor there and a couple of others. They used a combination of the material I had collected over the years along with sound clips and video clips and specific things from Noah's teachers and myself over time.....along with their own specific assessments and tests to determine his diagnoses.
God gave Noah to special parents. I know how this can bring us down sometimes but it is rewarding to see achievement. Noah will do much more than doctors have told you- Believe it
Noah and my son are very similar. In fact, I find Noah the most similar to my son than any other child on the spectrum that I've seen on YouTube. Both his conversational style, the need for sensory input including physical and visual eye glancing. Is/was Noah hyperlexic? Makyul didn't pick up on Noah's eyeglancing on the light post but its very familiar to me.
Noah was diagnosed at the Children's Hospital in Denver, Colorado after much evaluation and years of issues. This behavior IS typical for Noah and something he does often both at home and in public
Looks like a kid just having fun in front of a video camera to me, more than a "behavior".. If he did that in public, or FREQUENTLY, that'd be a different thing.. My cousin never really frequented the spinning thing, but we did always wonder how in the hell he could run without falling over.. He's definantly got a different run, and I do see it a little in your son.. If you don't mind me asking, how old is Noah?
I hope I answered your questions. You seemed to not BELIEVE my son has autism....but he does. He does do this behavior OFTEN both at home and out in public. This is one of MANY strange behaviors.
well so far all the other comments I posted to yours seem to be missing in action? Noah was diagnosed with "infantile autism, sensory integration disorder, generalized anxiety disorder, hypotonia, speech/language delay"
He's adorable (:
