ugh i moved to from Eugene to Maryland about 8 years ago and i fucking hate it hate it hate it! East coast people are so hostile and ignorant and the weather is horrible and the atmoshpere is just unpleasant. I miss Eugene! I miss the people! I miss the UFO lol and i miss the RAIN!!!

I grew up in Eugene Oregon and lived there until I was 19. I was born there. I am 27 now. but we are moving back...it will be interesting to see how it has changed these 8 years. I heard not many true Eugene natives live there anymore and they are all CALI drifters. I dont know how long I will stay there...but I am a true Eugene born and raised dude. I remember all the hippies and bums and pot smokers. nasty dreads etc...anarchist riots too.

My husband and I moved to Eugene from a beautiful tropical island 2 1/2 years ago and we love it. The people here think we are crazy for giving up life on an island for Eugene weather. We enjoy the 4 seasons and the fact that if we want city life it's 1 1/2 hrs. away, mountains 1 hr., beach 1 hr. On Guam we would have to fly 13hrs not to mention the cost. Yes, Eugene has issues but I don't know a place in this world that doesn't have issues. We love our new home.

Eugene is a bizarre town. 2nd largest city in Oregon but they consider traffic to be the 8 minutes you are on Beltline. There are bums everywhere, why? There are few jobs, most people dress like bums, & if you ask where the real mall is people look at you sideways. I was accused of being an upper class dick for complaining about the bums everywhere? WTF! All I was saying is what's up with all the hobos?

Oregon is one of the most beautiful states I have ever seen. But the city of Eugene? No. Been in Eugene only 9 years, it's changed in that short amount of time. See Cali license plates everywhere. Many farms & fields were replaced by condos & McMansions. Housing & food prices jumped. Boutique grocery stores, clothing stores, restaurants. See more SUV's and luxury cars. Some like living in a city, and want Eugene to grow as big as Portland.

All good reasons to love Eugene...don't get me wrong...I still love Eugene for the town that it is, it just dosen't do all for me anymore, after living there for so long, its just nice to be able to live somewhere else with a different economy and warmer weather, I WILL be back for the late summer and fall though.

Actually, it's probably similar to all of the weather in the Pacific North West. It can go from freezing/raining to pouring down rain, to hail, to bright and sunny all in one day. You'd be surprised.
