thye\\ey sure enjoy this song, don't they. My guess might be that they have heard him singing it at one time or another. John Denver's voice IMHO had a kind of magnetic tone to American audiences, so perhaps to German listeners he sounded very melodious.

It's so random that they freak out over this song at all the beer festivals in germany, ie oktoberfest, fruhlingsfest...etc.

i agree but john denver was one of them artist who you loved or havent heard play yet. but in the end everyone that knows him loves his music! \_/ cheers! \_/

sure? Country Roads, Sweet Home Alabama are well known songs on 'rurally'(<- translated with google, home it fits) partys. but i have'nt heard it with german verses yet.
