rabbit the day it was born. but the only snake i have that won't touch rabbits is my male he just eats rats and he could be eating rabbit's.
But i was just wondering if you bred thoughs you're self. That is a good supplie of feeders how long does that last you with you're snake's I have monthly supplies when i need the feeders. I am also getting another big female boa down the road when we build another cage for her or just buy her one so when my male gets better we can breed him to my female.
did you breed thoughs you're self. i breed rats my self to feed my 3 boa's my male isn't eating he has a respitory infection that we are fighting with medicine from the vet but we have 2 other big boas in my home to feed 1 25 lb 7 foot female boa that needs to gain another 10 lbs. and another female that is around 4 to 5 feet.
I was just wondering if was easier and cheaper to breed guinea pigs and rabbits because my 7 foot female could eat a 1 lb rabbit my other female could also eat a baby
I just don't listen to the hippies. When they pay my bills, then I will listen to them. I'm not keeping frozen rats or mice in my freezer. It's easier and cheaper for me just to breed them myself.
I have a ratsnake and Im not gona feed him any guinea pigs or rabbits (though he wont get big enough for rabbits lol) I used to have a guinea pig when I was little and I dont eat animals that could be pets like now I wont eat rattle snake soup cuz now I have a pet snake, but I cant wait to have gator stew lol. but def gona fee Joey rats and mice....live ones :D though I can only get frozen 4 now
your the man for making this video because people misunderstand feeder rodents..."last time i checked snakes didn't eat vegetables." lmao soo true my man! I wanna know from all the little whiner's on here what they THINK snakes should eat. Stop being stupid, and understand just like keeping a dog, snakes require special needs, such as rodents to eat. Frozen or Pre killed is really the most humane so this guy compared to alot of others is a saint so go hump a hampster and shut up!
nice stack.still a bit disgusting. i just bought a king snake and i feed frozen pinkies. my cat used to catch birds and eat it in front of me. my dog once ate part of a possom. people eat sushi, caviar, rare steak, fermenting meat...and milk? so calm down.
mY snake feeds frozen and when my friends mom told me tht pet store ppl acaully have to freeze them i just said o well but she looked discusted at me i dont get wht the big deal is live or frozen u have to feed your pet snake....SO IT CAN LIVE any way nice vid:)
The reason I feed frozen is because of my snakes health. I've been keeping snakes for many years now. Some of my larger snakes eat large guinea pigs, or rabbits. I feed frozen/thawed because if I were to feed life, food items this size could possibly injure the snake. When I was younger, I had a friend feed his ball python a rat and the rat bit his snake many times and caused some pretty bad injuries. The prey will do what they can to survive, they will kill your snake if they need to.
For anyone who has ever been bitten by a snake, that shit hurts. Imagine getting bit by a snake bigger then you and then hanhandled into a coil and then crushed to death. That's a horrible way to die. Worse then venom. CO2 please
I have to agree here. Alot of sick and stupid people come on here and look for trouble to get snake owners mad because they cant keep a snake. CO2 MEANS they were gassed and gone to sleep. So, CO2 = sleep forever. You dumb peta lovers! Leave all this feeding to the pros and take this drama somewhere else. And NO Frozen feeders never spoil in less there in the fridge COME ON! And thank you for the video. I might make one too of my feeders!
yeah ur right man, i dont know why ppl should moan about that, they are already dead (frozen rodents are killed by co2 which is a peaceful and humane and painless way to die) no pain for the prey whatsoever there and most snakes never complain that their food isnt alive
I don't own a snake, but I'm interested in getting one. I'm just interested in knowing how long you can keep frozen guinea pigs and rats in the freezer before they rot.
The only reason to buy prekilled is cause is due the owner can't stand to watch the mouse die. It ain't more humane for the mouse really, it where still killed just this time it where frozen to death, how is that more humane?^^ If frogs where supposed to eat dead food they would have eaten it in the wild too, they only go for live pray to fool them a dead mouse is alive is not in anyway more humane it's just kinda stupid, it probably just feels pain for a second due the body lose it's feeling.

erm the way it dies, would you rather be killed in a way that makes you feel like your tired and just drift into a sleep (CO2) or be put in a freezer and painfully die? u say whats the difference? one is cruel and painless and the other is painful and cruel
LOL did you know that when sumthing crushes you, you lose all feeling, when the snake squeeze the mouse at such a high speed it don't feel a thing, never heard of people who got their legs stuck under a big rock, they lose all feeling. So I once again say what's the difference?
when the snake squeeze the mouse at such a high speed it doesnt die instantly, u death or suming? u must have heard a mouse rat guninea pig or rabbit scream when it is striked, scream means its in pain/
No it means it's scared due it's about to die, no I am not dead but I know how reality works, you can only feel pain to a certain degree if your foot get stuck under a truck it'll hurt one second not the entire time.
This is not true actually. If you are keeping snakes as pets/breeders/ect feeding frozen/thawed is safer. A pre-killed food item cannot hurt or kill your snake. Some snakes will not eat sometimes (especially ball pythons which can have weird eating patterns). I have fed live before and it does not bother me. I just prefer to feed frozen/thawed for my snakes safety. Most experienced snake keepers/breeders do the same.
OH MAN THAN NOT ALIVE

Feeding f/t (frozen thawed) rodents is way easier and cost efficient than live rodents. But some reptiles will ONLY take live
