As a Survivor veteran, I disagree. Ashley, Grant, Andrea, Christine, and Francesca were just some of the strong players put on Robs team. Russells team had the same ratio of strong players/duds. Rob, however, was able to play the closest to a perfect game even with many power players on his team, and getting the weak team.

Russell's tribe ulimately screwed themselves when they threw that challenge to get rid of him. The reason people immediately wanted to vote out Russell was because he was doing exactly what he normally did the first time, with his alliance of three and most people assumed (Before Ralph showed) that he had the idol. If it was Rob on their team, I think they would take a liking to him because of his previous reputation as the "kind" villain.

Rob himself admitted he wouldn't have been able to control the game the same if he was on the Zaptera tribe. They screwed themselves by blowing a challenge way to early in the game. What is all this nice villian crap. Do you not remember how many jurors were pissed at Rob during All Stars.
Completely disagree. No one knew of Russell's previous reputation from Survivor: Samoa, because HvV was filmed before Samoa even aired-- giving him a huge advantage. Tyson's stupidity (as seen from the tribal council before this one) in voting himself out because people assumed Russell was one of the weaker strategic players was Rob's downfall. Coach's cowardly attitude in voting for Courtney also caused Rob to go home.
@cataclysmglitches They all knew Russell's game strategy, Jeff told them he made it into the top 10 biggest villains, and he did that in just one season that hadn't even aired to the public, AND they were all told what happened at Samoa before going on Survivor, they knew that he found idols and was aggressive.
And It's more of a disadvantage, because he's on the villains tribe and they don't know him, smart people would take him seriously.
No, they weren't informed at all of his strategy, the only thing he said at the beginning of the season was "how does it feel to be one of the top ten villains in Survivor history?" which was referring to his entire tribe as the other nine.

@TheJADatsyuk With the moves Jerri made, she still went to the Final 4 - the only way she could have gone further was being a finalist. Had Russell been voted out, the Villains would have done better in challenges with Rob around and went to the merge with more people. If Parvati and/or Danielle made it to the merge in the minority on their tribe, they'd have flipped. Had it been 5 v 5, Jerri wasn't in Rob's alliance and would have been targeted earlier. I think she made the right call.

Rob got lucky with his tribe because they're followers and if you've been following the season, they've basically become a cult.

As a Survivor veteran, I disagree. Ashley, Grant, Andrea, Christine, and Francesca were just some of the strong players put on Robs team. Russells team had the same ratio of strong players/duds. Rob, however, was able to play the closest to a perfect game even with many power players on his team, and getting the weak team.

Completely disagree. No one knew of Russell's previous reputation from Survivor: Samoa, because HvV was filmed before Samoa even aired-- giving him a huge advantage. Tyson's stupidity (as seen from the tribal council before this one) in voting himself out because people assumed Russell was one of the weaker strategic players was Rob's downfall. Coach's cowardly attitude in voting for Courtney also caused Rob to go home.

And It's more of a disadvantage, because he's on the villains tribe and they don't know him, smart people would take him seriously.

@TheJADatsyuk With the moves Jerri made, she still went to the Final 4 - the only way she could have gone further was being a finalist. Had Russell been voted out, the Villains would have done better in challenges with Rob around and went to the merge with more people. If Parvati and/or Danielle made it to the merge in the minority on their tribe, they'd have flipped. Had it been 5 v 5, Jerri wasn't in Rob's alliance and would have been targeted earlier. I think she made the right call.

@emycasanova To be fair, though, Probst said that for Redemption Island the two tribes were divided into people who could be easily manipulated (which is the tribe Rob got) and independent-minded people (which is the tribe Russell got). Russell was screwed from the start because it was in the nature of his tribe for them to vote him out as the biggest threat. Rob got lucky with his tribe because they're followers and if you've been following the season, they've basically become a cult.

Secondly, survivor statistics state Russell = 2+3+16 = 21 / 3 = 7th place average. Rob = 10+2+12+1 = 25/4 = 6.25th place average. Finally, Rob has actually WON the game. She's played twice and won both times, a remarkable track record compared to someone like Boston Rob who needed the dumbest group of Survivors ever (other than maybe the first season) and 4 tries to win.
