pt 2 I turned around to see them cover that little boy and pronounce...all of our hearts sank. I have unforgettably had to count more losses of life in kids there then I could save.
You guys do a hell of a job, never forget that, never forget you are never alone...keep going out...there is nothing more reassuring to the ground medic when the inbound bird(dustoff) can be heard.
Keep your heads up guys&gals....may you have a smooth flight, tailwinds and the good saints at your side.
Chris R...brother I share your pain! I remember a call I had In Afghanistan for a 9 yo that had a GSW thru the chest. Between myself and the US PJ medics we thru ever trick in our collective sleeves to cheat this death. Shortly after I turned over compressions to the team and walked over to the Pj's...telling damn boys that was a hell of a fight, well done on your work.
I would like to say that the comments at 0:47 are right on. You have to step back for a moment to see the scope of what is going on. Litterally hundreds and hundreds of years of experience and training go into helping each person. Dispatchers, police officers, firefighters, EMTs and paramedics, flight crews, doctors and nurses, right down to support crews and even receptionists keep the whole thing running. It truly is beautiful and breath taking to realize the grand scale of it all.
Dear god these pilots/flight nurses are damn amazing, saving lives, but I but say that bit with the little girl did make me cry a bit, but they were doing there job, and you can't ask for much more than that.
Damn damn damn...Some parts of youtube keep getting better and better. We have TV around here but NatGeo and Discovery dont a damn thing on thats this good !
