Nothing against this little girl, I understand this was perfectly normal showmanship for this kind of thing, but I cringe at this kind of showy show stuff.
Here's this nice horse, he is walking around perfectly calm, minding his p's and q's, and it's "yank yank, snap snap" to try to get him to hold his head up. Really? Can the judges not possibly judge good conformation if the horse's nose is not stuck straight in the air?
OMFG!!!!!!! she ripped down on the leadrope thingy( i dunno wat a "show"leadrope is called ok i RIDE.. i dont walk around with a horse).. she ripped down on him SOO many times.. and u can SOOOOO tell it hurt cause we whipped his head up really fast! OMG PLUS arbains have REALLY think skin.. wat might hurt a pony hurts an arabian 10 times more!!! omg i feel soo bad for that horse!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
....that doesn't make any sense.......arabians have normal skin.....and thats how halter horses are trained, if you yank on them they know to put they're head up, thats just how their trained...
Apparently some people think that every video posted is a new chance at them to bash a handler apart when they couldn't do any better themselves. The little girl handled the horse fine. I don't see why some of you bother critiquing when she didn't ask for it. And LOL, why did you even bother mentioning Parelli babes13x, this is Arabian haler showing, not a dang Parelli clinic.
When you wave your rope about to tell the horse to apparelty 'get its head up' . The real meaning a horse thinks about it is, get out of my territory. If she did it any longer the horse would probably think she meant go backwards or move away. Trust me, it's one of the basics in Parelelli. And they shouldn't scream like that to try and get its ears pricked. It will just put her off, and the horse will start becoming confused and even a lilttle bit frightened.
yea i agree with ALYJOMOFO wtf are you talking about? riding, and even showing, arabian horses is completely different than any other kind of riding. not to mention Arabians as a breed are WAY different and behave differently as well, so you're obviously are a little confused...lol
The horse looks fed up, not the proud Arabian i know tail over the back looking like the best thing ever! they can be showy and well behaved, fair play to the kid though she showed to the book almost
ok when they put their ears forward it doesn't necessarily mean that they are happy, it just means they are interested in something. so obviously they're shouting so that the horse gets excited....
Don't understand these American horse shows - all the screaming and shouting - the horse is walking perfectly well - why keep yanking the lead rein like that
They yell becuse they euther like the horse or they are trying to get his/her eras forward. its not really yanking it but when they are walking on a lose rein you wanna keep they're head up and faced forward. just fyi
What a beautiful horse! Is he a grullo color? He's certainly beautiful. I have a little 4yr. old pinto arabian that I'm training to do jumping, hunter flat work, and halter. Good luck with the shows!
Well he doesn't exactly look bay on my screen. And there was a hrullo half-arabian at my last stable. He was registered as arabian and quarter horse I think. But the dam was arab and sire was quarter horse.
Then he got the color from his sire, since he was a half-arabian and quarter horses come in grullo & dun. Purebred arabs don't come in dun, grullo, overo, tobiano, tovero, cream dilutes, champagne, or silver dapple.. they don't come in many colors, actually.
i love arabians. i have mt own arab that i got a year ago and i love him to death! he is kinda small for his breed though. he is only 14.1 hh. he is used a lot for schooling. he is 17 yrs old and one of the sweetest horses i have ever met.
EXTREMELY CUTE!! hey for all you guys know maybe she had to have a long lead! and you werent in the fuckin ring with her for all you know the horse could've been doing somthing like putting his nose a little to close when he knew he wasnt suppose to. for goodness sake you werent his fuckin handler she was!
What a nice, patient gelding she has! I totally agree with the comments about to much drape in the lead.. she would have gotten a lot better response from him when she stepped up to show if she hadn't been shanking him back on the rail. Happy for her on her second place pin.. and I am sure that she will have a very bright future with him, just a little worried about the response on the end of the lead. Anway, JMO....
Hats off to that girl for not letting the horse walk 'ahead' of her. That's why she could lead on such a slack lead (a bit too slack, but thats ok) :)lol is that horse just really tall or does it just look like that cuz shes so short? haha I think its a little of both. Nice work, congrats on 2nd place
Yes that is a cute little girl....but it bothers me the way she's got no contact with her horse by having so much 'drape' in her lead shank. Actually as she's walking out of the arena the lead is almost touching the ground - not a good idea no matter how calm her horse is!
a wonderful horse but i found that the girl is stupid! xC
