  • he didn't even predrill the holes for the screw

  • Wat kind of glue you use?? And im wat store can i get it??

  • what size sheet of MDF wood is that

  • @ogue1000 3/4 of a inch is the basic thickness

  • this box is fucking shit

  • if i put one of my sundown 12s in that it would blow that box apart

  • Why didnt you caulk the outside lines>?

  • great choice of song. :-)

  • I actually just made a box almost like that, but I made a plate from the inside end of the vent to the left corner for deeper bass, with a little grade on the plate.

  • Great work man, just a word to the wise, don't use MDF board. it's going to break over time. Use 3/4 inch birch ply. It'll last longer.

  • @schrock1 yes but mdf is heavier and it doesnt flex. But it isnt so strong.

  • @Dampfplauderer96 MDF is okay, but I have MDF boxes, and after a while it chips away. Birch Ply is more expensive but that's because it lasts forever. MDF is also porous so it requires the inside of the box to be sealed in order to prevent the back pressure from escaping a little. Don't get me wrong I'm not saying it's bad, I'm just saying there are better materials that will last longer.

  • im making a subwoofer in my gcse tech :) at school

  • The port is not long inuf

  • is this a cheap MDF?

  • @RGVPKMK0001 its spoon

  • hahaha

  • yo that shits sick

  • I have a question.... I made a hole cut out too big for my sub.... What can I do to fix this besides build a new box?

  • @BastardRevolver duct tape? lol nothing really

  • Dude, why particleboard??

  • the outside of it looks like it dont meet up in some places, like you cut it with a skill saw, and the one back side to the left wasn't sealed.

  • looks like you made those cuts with a hack saw

  • looks good , but I have one hint for you . I've been building speakers for a long time and if you build a modern sub , you should always cut out the holes for the woofer 's and ports BEFORE you glue it up . Almost all modern woofers have vents in the back and sides to cool the voice coils off . If you cut the holes first it limits the sawdust that will get in and eventually kill your woofer .

  • NICE im making one just like it

  • lol..no terminal

  • what joints did u use?

  • pre-drill, counter sink, and woodfiller in screw holes, and use mdf. and it will look sexy! and no cracks.but other that that nice box

  • cmon man 3/4" MDF

  • @wow1022 yeah could do with being at least 1"

that thing doesn't look very sturdy at all.

  • @capricebass12

As long as it’s ported the required length diameter the port can go at the front or to the side or on top or underneath trail and error. Oh you want for rectangular port. Looks cool spot on. Its best to wait for the sound outside to calm down and run a few frequency sweep graph tests outside because there are no boundaries for it to get disturbed by.

Always cut the hole smaller and sand it down so the sub fits in tightly!

  • good job men i like that

  • i think u did a good job u just need el terciopelo y ya jajajajajajajajajaa

  • good job

  • Staples would be better than screws.

  • dude that looks sick yo

  • looks good but you used the wrong type of wood....thats partical board, you want MDF or birch....and i also didnt see any wood glue being used...Just my 2 cents!!!

  • how big of a port should a shallow 12 be

  • people always got something to bitch about

i think this came out alright, who gives a shit he did it in a different order... the box is perfect, it'll take 60 seconds to add some more screws

  • say i got a Punch P3 and i need to make a box for it but i dont wanted little like this one! i want them long ones that have it for 2 bu i only want one do u knoe wat kind port shuld i use?

  • @ISRGOMEZ29 you can use the same port. just exstend one side to the width you want it

  • @ISRGOMEZ29 go to rockford fosgate website, most of the RF woofers want a sealed box.

  • @deadsinz sealed is so inefficient. you should never go sealed unless you absolutely have to.

  • @ISRGOMEZ29 wrong man, dont put your port on the front, horrible idea. make a 2 1/2 foot box build the port into the side and youll see how much better that box works

  • @ISRGOMEZ29 start off by throwing that woffer in the trash cause you wasted your money. next find someone who actually knows what they are talking about and ignore thes idiot. your welecome i just solved all your problems.

  • @MrTadpole09 -Stfu Nigga Or wait u being a lil wangsta talking shit behind a moniter! pussy ass!!!

  • nice box mate. can you plz hook me up with the dimensions of all pieces of wood cause im gona build a 12'' box for my first time

  • @BASSITZ this is a really old videp. but ill try and find some good dementions for you

  • nice box mate .can you hook me up with the dimensions of all pieces or wood cause i need to make a box for a 12'' and its gona be my first time for a 12'' sub. thanx

  • que pendejo estas

  • @cascker fuck you! you mexican fuck!

  • @capricebass12 pinche vato cuulllllllo hahhaha

  • @capricebass12 shut up pussy bitch

  • @capricebass12 lol u mexican to right

  • @capricebass12 ke unda es calmala vato alchiel

  • IT LOOKS ALRIGHT THERE WERE SOME PARTS ON IT THAT WERE CRACKED KEEP WORKING ON YOUR BOXES.

  • is that Elmer's glue? How thick is the wood? What are you going to put insed the port? sorry I dont know what its for.

  • @415sftonio its a box for a single 12... the wood is 3/4'' as for the glue you can use any kind of wood glue

  • @415sftonio the port is for the air flow from the sub

  • Hold up Holmes? what size are all the boards and what is the size on that hole?

  • Seems as though if the box does not have carpet it is a POS.

  • good job Homie

  • You should use some carpet next.

  • not to bad man not to bad

  • fake fake you

  • great job! nice box! colour??

  • @knoccoutP187 you can use a LARGE hot glue gun, or a tube of that cocking stuff, or if your wanna be ghetto, use plasture or concrete! XD

  • fucken junk

  • @250736304 fucken E-gangster!

  • well i would like to se you make one like that! if you make one beter than that, i will beleve you! dont be a crap hole!!

  • how did you cut the hole???

  • @DDFJ1230 with a jigsaw

  • pretty cool dude

  • nice man that was at the start huh lol it remember making boxes like that lol but u should have pre drilled the holes

  • @acurabass yea but at this time i had little knowledge of box building

  • wo ist der woofer

  • thats wicked, what was the dimensions of it?

  • im not sure bro its a old box and my buddie has it now

  • what was it tuned to?

  • @4663GA uhmm i think about 36-40 hz

  • what kind of subwoofer was in it?

  • @4663GA i gave it to a buddy its a 12'' mtx thunder series

  • nice box im making a box for a 12'' ,do the port make it sound better

  • @64kbj1 well it depends do you want it louder or sound quality louder is with the port

  • that looks professional

  • thanks bro it was actually my first one

  • Great job man!

  • thanks :)

  • nice job

  • @ciprianwiner thanks :)

  • i own and love my caprice too :)..and nice box

  • yea me to it was my favorite car

  • at least you know how to use your brain when you build it you glued it and screwed it that makes it invincable

  • @hitachi654 lol yea dude

  • with a jigsaw

  • what did you use to cute your wood and cut the hole out with?

  • @Thrash3rSkateRock i used a jigsaw to cut the holes

  • if your asking that you shouldent be annywhere near tools yet

  • Nice job bruh

  • @NcHalfrican thanx dude

  • Particle Board.... i made my first box from the same shit cuz i was laying around the house so it was free sounded like shit but did the job, but MDF is the preferred material for most

  • @BIGGIEDEVIL lol yea i know i used MDF on my knew boxes it just that it was cheap

  • Nice box man

  • @MacaSteff thanx

  • Very Bad woofer box....

  • @MCool3r well thats your opinion dude

  • how many l is that? litr

  • working good wits subwoofer?

  • yup

  • The wall of the enclosure is too thin man.

  • What did you use for wood and for sealent i am geting ready to make a box that hold 15 ST-SLP-18H

  • this type of box is used for cars because its sloted the port

  • I'm thirty yrs old and I have yet to make a box so nevermind any one trying to discourage you. Just keep trying and like life practice makes perfect. Good job young man good job.

  • Not bad for a first time. Needs more screws holding it together. Stronger way to assemble is to use wood glue or something like Gorilla Glue at all the joints then screw it together.

Particle board works just fine for the smaller enclosures as long as it's at least 3/4". MDF or HDF is the preferred material, but is a bit more pricey and isn't always a must have.

I would have added two braces. One from side to side behind the woofer and one from that brace to the center of the back panel.

  • wow did you use particle board? your cuts are way off too lol

  • um, wrong wood boss..mdf and ugh.....u need a lil more holes and u need to reenforce the inside...then and only then will u have a somewhat desecnt box

  • well thats your opinion man this was my first box

  • nice looking box, what about the terminals?????

  • that was tight.

  • honestly i like it it looks nice but what about powering the sub ???didnt think of that now did you

  • he could run the wires through the port it looks shitty but it works

  • drill and seal

  • i find the best wood to use is mdf not ldf which is what your using there

  • 100% right, MDF is optimal.

  • 19 mm spahnplatte

  • wow you got over 60,000 views , you should do me a box for a 94 camaro that will fit two kicker cvx 12's

  • for an 18 like 3 or 4 times as big

  • good job kid you did our homework nice.

  • hey is it realy tis simple to make it ? What you made will it actually sound good?

I wanna make a home made box too but for an 18" how much bigger does it have to be? :D

  • really good work man

i have make a subwoofer box to but that of you is better

  • good work kep it up

  • thanks mane

  • For port calculation, use the free program, WinISD. But you will need the parameters of the drivers.

There are quite a few drivers available in the program tough. So, if you are lucky, your driver's in the list!

You can also measure the Ideal volume of the enclosure. Even the shape of the port is adjustable.

When you press calculate, it shows a graph with the output of the box and the frequenty of the output.

  • "Sealed up nice and tight..." Except for the corner across from the port.

  • i would make the port longer but size box for 12 well wat kind of 12 u got to put in it

  • a really cheep jensen

  • if ur going slot port it atleast give it a baffle or a diafram

  • You need more screws in that box, you also need to put three side together first to keep it all square i.e. make one corner. Round both ends of the port over to stop the sound of the air rushing in and out. And then put your brother in the box and use him as acustic wadding. I was joking about the last bit !

  • @riru69

  • how did you make the port i am still learning how to make a good box, also i am trying to make a really bad ass custom box for my car but ik how to make it help me out

  • He just cutted it out and maked a really wide port...

There are loads of pre-made ports, plastic tubes..

If you want to do a good box you have to make some calculations, that includes knowing what speaker you are gonna use..

Lots of things needs to be done for the box to sound good, and if you do have a good well calculated box you can push more power in to the speaker then what it¨s rated for!

  • very rare that people actually understand that nowadays

  • And the best material to use is Birch ply from scandinavia.. So many layers you can get your hands on.. 25mm+ (1") is recommended for sturdyness...

  • looks nice

  • about how much do you think it would cost me for a dual box

  • depends where you get it they run from 50-80 dallors

  • where can i buy the wood

  • lowes or homedepot

  • It makes the soundwave not being able to bounce back into the speaker with the same force making the sound better.. It´s called "trapezio" i belive, when you have an angle..

Think of the soundwave, it bounces back, and then back to the speaker again.. If you have that side in an angle, the sound will make more movement and in other words better sound..

This way of building is commonly used in PA and car audio.

I use this function on all of my PA system!

  • basically any hardware store with a big stock room lol

  • You should always make one of the sides of a box in an angel, tilted. It makes the sound better cus the pressure wount bounce back on to the speaker..

    Just a pointer!

  • ok and how does that make a difference

  • hey what type of wood should i use, and glue it or nail it?

  • use 3/4 inch mdf, wood glue and some screws thats it pretty easy

  • Box looks good but im guessing u dont have that tuned at all.

  • ya it was tuned just way to high and i just made that box for fun i didnt even use it

  • this will sound stupid (im new to this) but what do you mean by tuning it?

  • well like the hertz tuned lower for low bass or tuned high for bassraces or things like that

  • What the hell!!! how old are u?... i'm guessing 9,,,,lol,, good job for a 9 year old... so what it sound like????

  • no actually im 15 at this time and im 16 now but it sounded really good

  • did you have any tuning or anything or did you just decide to slap somethin together real quick lol.

  • I'm guessing you calculated and tuned the port for this driver and volume right!?

  • ya man i like the box

    it just dont look sturdy

  • Nice box! Really clever! Except refrain from using particle board. It's more likely to come apart, especially if you used screws and you run a lit of power to it. But all in all, good looking box! You got the right idea on how to build them!

  • i made a box like this, same design but it held 2 10s and it had 2 ports, but i used plywood, not so good but it sounds amazing, nut like bandpass boxs more, so what kind of 12 are you putting in there?

  • not badd

  • good box but alittle small for a 12

  • hey lol i hav been tring to make a box and found out the annoying way i need a differnt saw. can someone msg me and tel me where i can get a saw to cut circles out in canada ontario??

  • i used a jigsaw for the circle you can find it a lowes

  • I got u BRO!! I am in Canada Ontario. I got the saw!!. Hit me up! Team D.T.P Car Audio 519!!.....

  • design is good but the material is not so good. medium density fiberboard is the top choice in 3/4" i bought a box from fry's and it had pretty much the same wood, except some was actually MDF. It didnt sound as good as it would with MDF. keep buildin them things

  • how do u get the measurement for the port

  • Nice box! And what sound play in video?

  • whats the measurements and what did you use to seal it?

  • VERY GOOD

  • nice box

  • This actually looks really good. People dont talk shit, he did the best job he could with the tools that he had.
