  • How in outer heaven did you get all this music? And how many of these did you make? Plus the videos on top of that

  • I FEEL ASLEEP!

  • Whenever those guards ran I always thought they would be chanting "RUNRUNRUNRUNRUN"...

  • CLASSIC NES MUSIC,ALWAYS PUTS A SMILE ON MY FACE!!!

  • Played AND passed this game with no cheats. You jus have to be persistent and save those passwords. I enjoyed the game, as frustrating as it was. Not all games are made for all players. You didn't like the game? Well, maybe the game didn't like YOU!

  • that run is epic! lol

  • SNAAAAAAKE!!

  • Well i have to say i didnt play this game but i played from mgs till mgs4 every game for the playstation and i loved it :)

The music of this game is epic and the game looks so fun. I really want to play this :)

  • Metal Gear is LEGENDARY!!! So is the film, that inspired the "Snake" character

  • I loved this game as a kid. I remember finding a password in the manual and using it to advance to the mid point in the game. There have always been lots of cool hidden things in the Metal Gear series.

I recently tried playing this game through without cheating, but got frustrated when I quit the game and painstakingly wrote down the password only to have it not work later! After the third time this happened to me, I quit. Too much work to start from scratch every time.

  • Oh uh! The truck have started to move!

  • In no way do i mean this to sound rude, but this 'The Music of Video Games' list seems overly NES biast when you consider the original Metal Gear was made on the MSX 2, and the NES version isnt even regarded by hideo kojima as a true port.. same goes for alot of other games in this list that were ports to NES from arcade. GREAT LIST THO enjoying very much =) * anyone looking to play this -forget- about the NES version, save yourself the annoyance *

  • chode

save yourself the annoyance of commenting about games

this game is legendary...shitty or not

its what we true gamers grew up with. the first metal gear we knew

    good times

    fucking chode!!

  • If you haven't gotten there yet, the MSX games are covered later on.

It's true the series is front-loaded with NES titles (partly nostalgia's fault), I feel I did a pretty decent job in finding original music whenever possible. This is especially true for arcade games, where I combed the Internet high and low for content. If you stick with it, I think you'll find the series does eventually diversify quite a bit.

  • @anonanonaa Do you know where to get the MSX version?

  • this game did come with a map if i remember correctly

  • @zillabunny A map that was bullshit. Which was so cool. They gave you a fake map too go along with the bad info from Big Boss.

  • @luvmenow33 ahhahah yeah no shit!!! me and my mom had to eventually draw out the entire game on rolls of computer paper marking all the traps and shit to finally beat it

  • This game had the dopest music. It was fucking impossible though.

  • definitely.

Kids nowadays are spoiled with the internet instead of having to buy magazines/strategy guides or even having games that tell you what you have to do in what would be a guessing game like the 2 forest mazes .

  • I have located SOME plastic explosive

  • While the game had more than its fair share of problems, it sure had a damn fine soundtrack.

  • please elaborate on the problems u encountered

  • MSX 2 version is way better.

  • this game was difficult

  • So this was the start of misusing "have/has"! I always thought it was lolcats. (Joking! XD)

  • Boy are you lucky you remembered that "joking." 'Cause nobody wants to has their face torn off over the internet.

  • Secound music remiands me Mission Impossible :D

  • Sweet! You ended the video with the opening cut scene's 12 second musical sting. I approve~

  • Soñé con este juego y lo termine semanas despues......

  • Best series ever, nothin else to say.

  • UH - OH The truck have started to move!

  • "I feel asleep"

  • @g8282

Haha the best quote from a stealth game

  • lol awesome

  • @w0lf13

haha the 2nd best quote from a stealth game

  • I know I just commented but I have to point out that the music at 2:56 is awesome.

  • you know If you're going to post the Metal Gear Music, You should also Post the stuff from the Original Metal Gear and Metal Gear 2 Solid Snake for the MSX. unless you've already done that.

  • this game was fucking haaard.

  • All of the music in this game is just so awesome!

  • 1:07 is the best one . it reminds me of Mission Impossible.

  • Good game, the NES port didn't do it justice, unfortunately.

  • This game had some great music. Even though you heard the same music for most of the game.

  • I WANT THAT BEAT THAT STARTS AT 2:05, it would be a tight beat for a mixed song, anyone know how to get it?

  • Check ocremix (.) org , they might have it

  • 4:36 - lol look at that guy's legs move!

  • Uh oh - the truck have started to move!

  • Must have hired the writers from "Zero Wing" (All your base are belong to us)

  • The only Metal Gear game I actually like.

    Great post.

  • Great, now you just created a time paradox :P

  • I haven't heard the whole soundtrack. That second to last track sounds really groovy. It has a touch of Daft Punk in it. lol.

  • The NES music blows away the MSX version.

  • I agree. While the MSX version has supperior gameplay and graphics, the NES one has more than just 1 track... >_>

  • I feel asleep!

  • yeah, lol in earlier games, the grammar wasn't very good. Lol such as classic games such as Zero wing. "All your base are belong to us, you have no chance to survive make your time." XD

  • Or The Goonies II, where you punch someone and it says "OUCH! WHAT DO YOU DO?" Of course, does it mean to say What DID you do?

  • I couldn't get into this game, I love everything PS1 & up, but the NES games I never found fun to play, of course mostly due to me dying in the first 3 minutes. =P

  • Wow, thats is sad you know, NES had games that were hard to beat but others were too easy. In that line, you will not be able to play the new Bionic Commando game for PS3 and xbox, I read in GameInformer that the producer sais the game is not focused for casual players, the first Bionic Commando wasn't too.

  • Don't worry, I'll be busy finally enjoying Bio Shock, GTA4, & Mega Man 9 when I get a 360 sometime at the end of the year. I still think its pretty cool they're making a remake & a new game. Maybe I'll check them out down the road.

  • Yeah, I recommend you play the new Bionic Commando, that game will be really something

  • bionic commando rearmed is actualy easier than the original, you get a health meter from the get go, in the old game being able to take more than one hit was earned

  • good that you just admitted that you used a

    bad emulator.

  • Either that or he forgot to get rid of the transmitter after you get captured. I remember that tripped me up as a kid for a week! "Why do they always find me?!"

  • Don´t defend it! It´s horrible in every imaginable fuckin way! although the music´s kinda cool.

  • And yes the MSX version is great!

  • They should've included the original music from the MSX version as well, that would've made this soundtrack even better!

  • I'm tempted to make a separate vid for the MSX version, maybe it'll pop up on my channel one day.

  • In case you misunderstood: I was talking about the devs of Metal Gear on the NES, they should've recycled the tunes from the MSX version.

garudoh, I've been enjoying your soundtrack videos for some time now - great job! :)

  • Yeah, I understood, I was just pointing out that those extra songs might warrant another vid somewhere down the line. Anyway, thanks for the comment, always cool seeing people enjoying my compilations.

  • The NES and the MSX had different sound cards so perhaps the tunes were difficult to translate.

  • That's true, but they could've been remade

  • I sure miss playing this NES classic. I wish they made an enhanced version for the PSP.

  • If that ever happened, I'd pick it up on the spot!

  • dulidu BWAAH BWAAAH! =)

  • i have been looking for this soundtrack for a very long time.

    Good stuff!

  • I FEEL ASLEEP.

  • Excellent!
