@zapatero39 The quick head change came out of a desire to get a wider variety of low end sounds in the studio (or live).
You can have a stack of heads (1-ply, 2-ply,synthetic,natural skin,coated,naugahyde,etc...) and get a variety of distinctly different sounds in a short period of time.
It's easy to bring a variety of snare drums into a studio, but not so practical with multiple bass drums. It allows you to have more options and be more creative without wasting a lot of time, effort and space
@drgonz1 Thanks! Prices depend on a lot of variables. The basic models come in Maple, Cherry and Bamboo, but we've also made custom ones with Walnut, Pecan, Spalted Maple and other hardwoods.
There's also a variety of accessories you can add on to customize.
They're all custom made one at a time in Austin, TX
Check the swanpercussion site for pricing and more info!
Thanks everyone! You can check out and order the Black Swan Drum (pat. pen.) and our other Swan Percussion products at our website swanpercussion (dot com)
Can't post the actual URL (youtube restrictions?) but I'm sure you'll figure it out from the above ;)
