However, if those running the judicial system did not look at the race of the accused during the legal process including sentencing, and instead looked the individual and the crime they committed, the institutionalized racism could cease, could it not? Because the fact that the race of the accused is being focused on is what leads to inequality in the prison system.

If those in power did not see minorities as a different group of people, and separate races into different groups, institutional racism could be eliminated, because it is a result of separating different races into groups and treating each one differently. Treating them equally as if they were all part of one group, US citizens, could stop this.

Technically we are all racist, just not overtly. A white male with a criminal background is still more likely to get hired than a black male with no criminal background. Also, hate crimes and affirmative action also imply that certain races need a "leg up" or they can't get by otherwise. The laws themselves, while the government claims they have good intentions, are in themselves racist and based on prejudice.

However, if those running the judicial system did not look at the race of the accused during the legal process including sentencing, and instead looked the individual and the crime they committed, the institutionalized racism could cease, could it not? Because the fact that the race of the accused is being focused on is what leads to inequality in the prison system.

If those in power did not see minorities as a different group of people, and separate races into different groups, institutional racism could be eliminated, because it is a result of separating different races into groups and treating each one differently. Treating them equally as if they were all part of one group, US citizens, could stop this.

Governments exist to counteract or harness human mentality for a greater good. Libertarianism, from largely preventing government from doing so, is NOT the enemy of racism. That is a lie. Technically we are all racist, just not overtly. A white male with a criminal background is still more likely to get hired than a black male with no criminal background. This isn't on purpose, it is subconscious and deeply rooted. So it is important to NOT be colorblind because then we tend to ignore inequalities, making them worse.

Capitalism's success in the past has mainly been due to the abundance of natural resources v. the human population. The realization that the population is consuming natural resources faster than they can be replenished will lead to the population having to agree to distribute the resources with ration. Resources not money will inspire socialism

In contrast socialism, communism and theocratic governance rely on docile, ignorant and enslaved populations. The 'success' of Arabia is based entirely on oil, infidel expertise and slavery.

@ritchloui I would agree Capitalism was a success in a heartbeat, but it lacks heavily in not preparing for a world void of burning fossil fuels. In fact, it takes gov't backed programs for nearly any of them to happen. Ron Paul's capitalist society would bring this progress to a halt, though I would like to think businesses would see opportunity in this field and thrive like the fossil fuel industry did.
