test drove the v8 yesterday... wanted to drive the v12 but the one they had had been sold that morning... they call it morning frost white - possibly the most stunning car in the flesh i've ever come across! quite simply beautiful! v8 goes well but you're left wanting moer and knowing they offer the v12... you could never buy the v8
I much prefer the stickshift to a paddleshift! Feels like you are driving it, not just playing a computer game and pushing buttons... Honestly, my favourite car ever this one!
This guy is too boring. But the car is really nice. Even though it does not really compare with its competition; that being the porsche 911 gt2, lamborghini gallardo lp560-4, ferrari f430. Just like all astons. They are kind of like big sail boats. They are very cool looking, they are comfortable, and they are very fun to drive. But when you throw it into the pond with the speed boats; ferrari, lamborghini, porsche; there really is no comparison.
Astons have always been more of the GT car, and I'm actually glad it's that way. Astons are the cars you can take on a 150 mile road trip to an overnight stay on a beachside hotel, or a semi-short roadtrip, something I wouldn't attempt with a more race-focused GT2
drive it hard? What does he mean? He's in UK... 70 mph... or a few dangerous illegal spats around the countryside perhaps? I wish these guys would get on the ferry and come over to germany where families go on holiday at 155(mph) in their diesels... or 200~220+(mph) in their Hurricanes or remapped e63s etc.Oh well, I love the shape.. but sadly the porsches and now even Nissans (gtr is it?) will leave the Aston. Pity really. Sounds like it can do so much more.
I agree that it is a shame how the astons are pretty easily beaten by more extreme cars like the GT-R or 993 turbo or F430, but there is that intangible quality to it, and all astons really, that evoke the emotions more than any other. Rather than being the most blisteringly quick car, its the most beautiful and the more passionate. So I think that's where they win. The One-77 will feel like a million bucks, even though a Veyron would eat it for breakfast
I agree... the Aston is beautiful, and in most other places that is great since you won't use the performance as not allowed. In Germany you can, and that's why I'd choose an alternative as I want to use the performance, and most up market cars in the 300Km/h club have better performance for half or even less the price. Let me put it this way, I just wished the DBS would have 600 to 700 BHP and easily reach some 320/330+. That way it would do what it looks like it can do. I too love the shape.
@om0iro I would. The V8 or the V12 vantage is not for my taste. Don't know why, but don't give me the feeling to really want to own one. On the other hand I love the DBS
@om0iro this car looks good and sounds good, but the interior is terrible and the resale value is just rubbish like the gear box, the E63 is perfect, except its 4 door saloon
@hellboy1976 if aston martin focus more on the interior design i would shut my mouth but they dont which is a sad thing, you look at the car, you hear the sound of that engine, you drive and you wont be able to say a word cuz you would be stunned, but when you look at the interior and use the navigation which came out of Volvo (rubbish system) you feel the disappointment, while the E63 is a luxury sedan which you can turn it into an angry animal, or should i say uncontrollable animal
@hazemvirus Clearly you have never been in one. Many say that the Aston cars have the best interiors of any focused high performance sports cars. Trust me when I say, the interior of this car makes the driver feel incredibly well indulged, highest quality leathers, real glass on the buttons, and real woods in the cabin. Please do not mention mass produced BMW's on this thread.
@om0iro imagine, there are people who want a 4 door, to drive their kids to school or whatever. this is something for a second car in your garage, or for people without kids :)

It's not so much that he has no emotion - more that he has no personality,
Probably because he is so fat, he tries to converse in a way that does not attract attention and therefore does not make people notice his double chin.
Is this man dead?? He has no emotion... He is in... In his own words... the most exciting car of 2009!! Show some emotion you fat useless twat of a presenter! I would have a massive hard on just sitting in it! Stick to driving Hyundai's
YAWN, BEAUTIFUL CAR, but my god what a bore you are. Shut up and floor it, i dont care if it caN ABSORB bumps, if i want comfort i shall buy a maybach
I must admit I don't get the reference to the capacity of the engine and the size of the car...quite apart from the fact it has non-existent wheelbase overhang, it's hardly an engineering feat when compared to say, a caterham with a 5.7 litre LS3...
He said "it's the most exciting car of 2009," SO WHY ISN'T HE EXCITED TO DRIVE IT? I finally had to turn off the volume because I couldn't stand listening to him drone on about such a beautiful car. A man without a pulse should only be able to test drive Volvos.
,,,soo beautiful, love the interior, red interiors are so amazing, and its done right with the manual and 3 pedals...but i guess if you have the money and live in north america it sucks, cuz i heard somewhere its not coming to the us...so that would mean canada as well? i dont know...maybe

Ok, this host did no justice to the Vantage v12. He should be covering hybrids. He's too conservative

Yea, the DBS should definitely be on the fun side of 200mph...but the One-77 will probably fill that gap, shame they didn't do it with this though.
