This boils down to a choices thing, his choice (and frankly a lot of people now adays in modern day america) does not make him messed up in the head. You believe good, you don't believe fine, its a choice. Frankly either way doesnt make you crazy, fanatics/extremists are the crazies of the bunch. There are those that say the major religions books authored by unknown authors are merely for control over the population, that too doesn't make anyone crazy. It once again boils down to choice.
