But still being a Microsoft technology is more likely to be supported, and it has gpu acceleration for more than video decoding and that should provide a less sucky experience in mobile devices

Exactly. But how many websites (this one, for example) are going to just up and switch from Flash to Silverlight just so that one device's mobile browser can render it correctly? I would assume close to none (unless the site admins absolutely love and need Silverlight, which doesn't seem to be the case at this point).

It would be much, much smarter for MS to support Flash on the Zune HD's browser. Maybe not in the beginning, but with a firmware update later on.
