  • THANK YOU!! :)

  • Boom!

  • Smokin

  • thanks a lot

how fucking gay that u cant just right click and delete these pieces of shit

  • now if you delete your clips from the imovie it does't delete the clip from your computer as well right? lol

  • @gotjesus13 Correct (at least in my version). Just pressing delete doesn't necessarily mean it's been deleted from imovie either. It may just have been "rejected" which is why you have to check your rejected clips and click "move to trash" or send the entire event (or unused portion of it) to the trash from the drop-down menu. Once it's in the trash, your computer can't read it but it's still taking up space (just like everything in the trash bin) and then you click "empty trash"!

  • @rosesofsunshine3 thanks so much!! i was wondering the same thing as you haha :)

  • You're really Pretty .

  • wow i have a such more easier way, highlight the clip and press delete

  • @xSpArTaNGoDzx she said once you do that, they go to REJECTED clips.

  • you know if u go to file then u can click something that says move to trash

  • Thank you so much for your help!

  • She's kinda cute. :)

  • Ur Beutiful

  • thank youuuu!

  • Thank you SO much. I could not figure it out! :)

  • Next time can you illustrate this by capturing the screen at the same time.

  • It is helpful, many thanks - their are no stupid questions.

  • Pointless dumb bitch

  • This helped me! Thank you so much!

  • This helped so much! Thanks! :)

  • apple sometimes it works sometimes it dont i push buttons but nothing happens why dont they have a trash like in iphoto

  • What about if you havnt rejected it?

  • thx

  • will this affect your imovie projects in any way? thanks btw really helpful!! subed!!! :):):D

  • REALLY FUCKING USEFUL ! THANK YOU SO MUCH :D

  • nice.. finally got rid of all those clips

  • I just started learning how to use imovie so thank you for this information!!! Smiles!!

  • im trying to delete the rejected but when i click move rejected to trash nothing happens and under the file drop down the move rejected to trash is gray ghosted out can u help im using i move 09 with OS X v10.6.6 thank u very much

  • @mrcheddar1695 Maybe try restarting your computer? I think I have '09 and I often put the clips I want in a project (do this FIRST) and then go to "file" where there should be a drop-down to "move event to trash".... It should take a little while processing the command and a pop-up box should then appear asking if you want to move the whole even to trash or just the "unused" files (meaning the ones not in the project). Click delete UNUSED. (Continued....)

  • @mrcheddar1695 (Continued...)

I suggest creating a practice event on isight, putting part of it in a project and then making sure the computer gives you the "delete unused" option... you don't want to accidentally delete an entire event you need!

    Hope this helps:)

  • yeah i didnt know this info eaither so thank you so much for sharing. i followed what you said and it worked! yay! thank you! and don't worry most ppl dont know a lot about apple b/c its so different than pcs (which i had 4ever) and its expensive to learn about apples (the one-on-one training in apple is $100). again thanks

  • THANK YOU

  • i tried what you said but when i click move rejected clips to trash it wont to anything

  • @DORAILYSFAN Are any of the clips or portions of the clips being used in projects? If they are, deleting the clip in the event probably won't work in order to avoid corrupting or deleting the clips within the project. With some versions of imovie, you can select the event you want to delete--> go to File---> Move event to trash---> then click delete unused when the box pops up (the box appears on my new (from last yr) & previous computers but I'm not sure about the newest or really old versions

  • @rosesofsunshine3 This worked for me. Thanks so much! :)

  • @DORAILYSFAN mine is the same way and the file drop down has the same operation but it is gray ghosted out

  • Your frikin gorgeous

  • thx a lot

  • Thank you, thank you, thank you. You saved me from a world of trouble. I followed your recommendation even though I have iMovie 09. It is a little different but was easy to figure out. Thanks so much.

  • The operation could not be completed. *** -[NSPlaceholderMutableDictionary initWithObjects:forKeys:]: number of objects (0) not equal to number of keys (8)

No amount of searching on the net has helped me. Could you? Please!!!

  • Sorry, have no clue! I just searched the internet too and didn't find anything either. The Apple website lists the support number for the U.K. as (44) 0844 209 0611 It says that it is not a toll free number... so maybe you might want to just go to a store and see if they can help? In the U.S., we can make a free appointment with the tech support ppl from the support section on the Apple website that way they can for sure look at it when you take the computer in or go in to talk with them.

  • That's all I can think of bcz I've never had that problem before=I

  • imovie does sometimes refuse to delete clips that are being used in projects so that parts of the project are not deleted. I've never got that message before though. I hope you find the solution though... I'm sure there's got to be one

  • AAHHHH HELP!!! This is really bugging me now. I have chosen the clips i do not need. Pressed Delete. Found these clips in 'Rejected Only'. Pressed 'Move rejected to trash' and I get a pop up box which tells me that I am about to delete clips. I press ok. Then I get another box which tells me I am unable to do delete and the following message.

    *See Above

  • life saver!

  • you just saved my life on a my project

  • thank you for the advice and your hot as fuck both my friends agree...

  • Future reference it works on 09 too thanks!

  • Thanks! This was really helpfull.

  • Thank you soooo much!

  • when i try to do that it say theres not enough disk space what does that mean?

  • how do you delete the clips ?

  • by pressing delete (from the actual event)-> going to rejected clips-> clicking "move rejected clips to trash"-> going to the Mac's trash & emptying the trash in order to get it totally off the hard drive.

It's kind of a long process.

At least with my version, if you delete a clip in an event, it'll corrupt the clip in the project... so you probably don't want to delete the events of projects you want to keep. It's kind of confusing...

  • I'm not a Mac expert... I just have one... if you need help, you can call & schedule an appointment at an Apple store (and bring your computer with you) to get step-by step guidance. The tech support team are called Mac "Geniuses" (which is funny, but a good name because they can really help:) I actually need to bring mine in soon too=P

  • idk what imovie i have. i dont think its from 2007 tho. i am trying to delete events in mine coz there is nothing in there and i am trying to uploud my video BUT it wont let me :-( o wail gas i wail have to keep looking around.

  • I can't find how to delete the clips from the Imove system in the first place! PLease help

    PK100

  • If you have the same version as I do: 1) select the clips (so there's a yellow box around what you want to delete) and press delete 2) then select the main event folder(s) from where you deleted clips and click on the arrow on the little box at the bottom L that says "favorites and unmarked" and then scroll down to "rejected only" 3) click on "move rejected to trash" and wait for it to do that 4) go to the Trash Bin and "Empty Trash"

  • I hope this helps! If not, you can always bring your laptop or computer to an Apple store, stop by and just ask, or call them...

  • Mac spelled backwards is Cam

    Think about THAT!

  • Poor, poor rejected clips... and shame on the iMovie hard drive monster.

  • lol
