The tradition of a Christmas tree does not define Christianity. The tree is just tradition; the same way the traditions of European suit and a bow tie who’s history started during the 30 Years War, Croatian mercenaries went to France to show their support to King Louis. In order to keep their shirts closed, (apparently they didn't have many buttons), they wrapped a loosely fit tie around their necks. Jeremiah wasn’t talking about a Christmas tree but Idol worshippers.
