  • Nice! I'm wondering about making rocks for a landscape border. How long do these hold up before they need repainting? Can they stand up to a string trimmer?

    THanks

  • @SemiTall Rocks for a landscape border works great. I've done it several times. The rocks around my pond have been there for 4 years and don't need repainting. I have no experience with using a string trimmer on them. Try it and let me know.

  • That' s reallu cool - I can't believe I've just spent an hour watching a guy making rocks :) Time to go out and make a few more rocks

  • I've watched all 6 videoa twice, and typed up the instructions in preparation for resurfacing my pond walls and surrounding (real) rocks. Should I use the MORTAR COVER (3 pts sand, 1 pt mortar, fiber, 3 pts acrylic, 1 pt water) first, let dry, then paint with the WATERPROOOF COATING made with masonry cement mixed with 3-to-1 acrylic/water? Many thanks for any info you can provide.

  • The liquid is 3 parts WATER and 1 part acrylic. The process would be as you describe, followed by texturing, coloring and sealing with a solvent-based sealer.

  • phenomenal stuff.

Much better than many cast rocks.

  • I watched all five parts ...excellent!! thank you so much ...I now have even more ideas for my summer ... haha like I didn't have enough projects already.

  • If you watched "all five parts", you missed a part. This is a six part series. Thanks for the comments. Know what you mean about enough projects!!!!!!
