  • I like to think of myself as having a pretty good grasp on what is going on the world. I have followed many of the issues he talks about, but by the end of this my mind was still blown. He lays everything out so clearly.

  • woah, I love this guy.

  • If only politicians were half as informed and half as honest as Greenwald.

  • holyshit that music is good! oh yeah glenn is great too.

  • Liberating & exhilerating: Greenwald's support of the Occupy movement rather than individual politicians to end the long night of corporate-government supremacy! Thanks to Prof. Kreisler for having the guts to do this fantastic interview. Best & most useful hour I've spent on the Internet all year.

  • I think he is one of the best mainstream author/political thinkers in the US offering hope and clarity and the basic sense. He lives with his partner in Brazil. Because of US immigration laws, he cannot live with his partner in the US. This, I think, makes his thinking that much more rich with Umph behind it.

  • Of course a beauty! Thanks Glenn Greenwald!

  • Kudos to Professor Kreisler for his extremely incisive lines of questioning. And to Glenn, of course, for thoughtful, candid responses that further enriches understanding of what he writes.

  • Incredible interview.

  • Greenwald should definitely run for president ... he's this country's Alexey Navalny

  • Greenwald is this generation's Chomsky. Glad we have both of them at the same time!

  • @InternContradiction Greenwald is awesome but he doesn't come close to Chomsky for me. He's way more moderate.

  • @TheEthanwashere He is not moderate, he is realist, still lunatic to believe in things like journalism ( you need to read Balzac to know what journalism is). Chomsky is a lunatic who spit fanatically on the system who feeds him. What he hate so much has a name even if he never use it: the republic. It is a greco roman political system we have been using for over 2500 years (the catholic church is a republic). It is normal for jews (I guess that make me a Nazi) to denounce it.

  • @uncultivatedretard No that just makes you an anti-semite, you're generalizing about a group of people with a negative connotation.

  • @TheEthanwashere No I state historical facts, he is a jew have been raise as a jew by a hebrew scholar he said it himself several time. He believe in Israel he is against the right of return of the Palestinian population in fact he is even against boycott which he cheered at for South Africa. History is the tutor of life and Chomsky's history is the jewish one like it or not. All his little leftist friends , Amy Goodman, Howard Zinn , Naomi Klein are jewish 2 weird isn't it?

  • I'm not saying Jews are inferior (in fact they are quite smart 1,7% of the U.S population and 13% of the senate seats). I'm saying that if they truly believe they are the chosen people than they should logically hate us and our system since we(the roman a.k.a white european roman catholic) destroyed their precious state 2142 years ago and persecuted them(as the killer of jesus) for the next 1900 years .Plus they think christian are fool who worship a false messiah.

  • @uncultivatedretard wut? You're an ill-informed bigot- Chomsky did live in a kibbutz for a while but he's against Israeli policies, he's for the right of return. The 3 you mentioned for the most part are secular and if I recall correctly generally against Israel's policies. Anyway by belief Chomsky is an atheist.

    Religious people are fools....

  • @TheEthanwashere no no no chomsky is against the right of return sorry , I've followed this guy for 2 years and that is the only dissention between him and Finkelstein. He can be against Israeli policies as much as you want but he is for the state of Israel and he said himself that the right of return is the end of the state of Israel sorry. He is for a two state solution on the border of 67 with lands swap.

  • @TheEthanwashere Who care what he claim he is , his children have been raised in the jewish religion just like him. I never go to the church and it doesn't change the fact that I've been raised as a catholic by parents who were not going to the church. Chomsky said himself that to him judaism is only a set of ritiual that's where he is wrong , judaism is also a set of value just like any other religions. Glad you were the first to insult me, my name is 4 people like u.

  • @TheEthanwashere Chomsky have no model to offer just like Greenwald they are sad clowns who tells things everybody with a bit of classical education know: we live in a republic and in a republic there is no such thing as equality. There are 3 level , the masses , the guardians , the elite and the whole thing is kept together by the noble lie. The elite lie to lead , the guardians apply the lie and the masses work that's all , don't believe me read plato.

  • @uncultivatedretard Plato was for philosopher kings not a republic -_-

  • @TheEthanwashere Socrates didn't believed in anything else than a metaphysical republic but he only talks about it in the last book of the republic. If you go to university and take classes in politics or philosophy they don't give you the whole book to read to be sure that people stay as ignorant as you are. Plato for philosopher kings... for christ sake give me more academia bullshit. Read the books by yourself and make your own opinion.

  • @uncultivatedretard One last thing, kings do not need a noble lie to rule , they are war chiefs their power is based on violence.

  • @InternContradiction Actually I take that back. lol. I guess I agree

  • Glenn Greenwald for President !!!!

  • Without people like Glenn proving to me that reason and logic still exist in the world, I would have lost my mind years ago. He is an island of reason in a sea of insanity.

  • Greenwald, as usual, was awesome. I really enjoyed a lot of the questions that were asked, also. Great all around.

  • Excellent interview. Thanks for posting.

  • I'm a student studying philosophy and find inspiration in Glenn's way of presenting arguments. I really appreciate the questions asked here. The video was well worth watching.

  • Glenn Greenwald is indeed amazing. He's a very good writer. And praises the likes of Noam Chomsky. Another writer/activist worth reading.

  • @eddiemaxblack i might be hallucinating, but i thought i read somewhere that there's going to be an event where chomsky and greenwald will be in conversation on these topics. i feel like i read it was going to be on cspan, but i'm sure someone will put it on youtube. don't quote me on this, as i might be starting a vicious rumor!

  • @clockworkscott

It did happen. About a month ago. I'm not sure if it was on C-Span. I actually listened to it. They both spoke. And then answered questions. So, it wasn't an actual conversation, as it were.

  • @eddiemaxblack alright, thanks for letting me know.

  • Greenwald is amazing.

  • “A democracy cannot exist as a permanent form of government. It can only exist until the voters discover that they can vote themselves largesse from the public treasury. From that moment on, the majority always votes for the candidates promising the most benefits from the public treasury with the result that a democracy always collapses over loose fiscal policy, always followed by a dictatorship. The average age of the world's greatest civilizations has been 200 years.”

    ― Alexis de Tocqueville
