I trained using Kumite Ryu, this is effective, we are trained to use kill blows to incapacitate, this also works hand in hand with SOCP defensive fighting. The punches thrown in this are off and that is where my training was different, my training was sparring where if you messed up YOU REALLY GOT HIT, I trained under Soke Jon Davis. Jiujitsu works well as it is a DEFENSIVE art and uses leverage not strength to overcome threats.

My family is lucky enough to study with Grandmaster Logan. His system is great for kids, great for novices, and lots of fun to learn... but for sure it works and is very powerful. Cheers to CT School of Survival!
