  • Thanks to videos like this,I bought the PistolProbe. This wasn't the only video I watched.I watched a few others on youtube. It is really great.Costs a little more, but worth it.PI is tough to beat for depth. Some of the other pointer probes you had to be almost touching the coin to get a reading.

  • i really hope you gonna find something make u rich in the future for all ur metal detecting efforts, think about going to africa, america is suck. colonial people depleted everything.

  • Thanks to your videos, I have ordered the Pistol Pobe, and it looks fu..ing good, I had in mind the Garrett, but changed my order :-)

But I have the Garrett AT Pro detector and that my friend, is a good one.

    Greatings from Norway

  • would like to see a test on the garrett super wand would it detect a coin from the top of the grass to about 6 or 7 inches down in the ground. I am thinking of buying one if it can go deeper than the pistol probe.

  • If the pistol probe was smaller and didn't look like a gun plus auto tuning they would sell a lot more. One of the reasons the Propointer is great is there is no tuning to do. The biggest problem is the Propointer and the 14.7 Whites machines cross talk too much. This is why I use the Sunrays on my Whites.

  • Sun ray probe uses your detectors setting IE discrimination so it will only find what your detecting for. Another words if you have iron rejected the sun ray probe will also reject it. All other pin pointers sound off on all metal. My sun-ray goes at least 4 inches depending on what my sensitivity is set at. I would take the sun ray any day over another 2 inches from the pistol metal detector...opps meant pistol probe any day. JMHO

  • sucked me into watching for the Vibra-Probe and then you didn't even show it!!! Thumbs down!

  • If you tune the white's correctly you will get 3". But I now own both White's and the Pistol. Thanks,

  • I bought a Pistol Probe because of your earlier video. I cannot imagine metal detecting without it. Best buy ever.

  • Why do you have a quotation mark after the numbers?

  • how and where can you find the pistol probe?

  • excellent videos thanks bought mine and love it!

  • Wondering if you are still detecting? Been awhile since you've posted anything. Looking forward to more if you so decide!

  • When you are pointed right at your target, it is the loudest....the farther off you are, the volume decreases. When you have targets, why wouldn't you want the probe that tells you where it is at the soonest? Without so much as even getting the tip of the probe dirty, you can zero right in on your target and dig right in on top of it. In my personal experience, this is an outstanding unit.

    Just my 2-cents here.....

  • I would rather the Vibra probe, at least you know you are next to the target when it reacts. Whats the point of a pinpointer when the target can still be 6 inches away. Thats just my opinion.

  • hi there

nice post well done...a credit to the art of detecting...but over here in yorkshire it's only considered cold when an ear falls off...yes im deaf....hahaha

  • I bought one about a week ago :)

  • In what country is the pistol probe made?

  • america , you can get them on ebay from there.

  • I wrote to Detector Pro and they said they the pistol probe is "made overeseas to our specifications". This clearly doesn't prevent the pistol probe from being an outstanding product, but country of origin is a consideration for some buyers.

  • Yeah I understand . I ordered mine from the usa , I'm very pleased with it .

  • Good follow up. I wasn't one of the ones that sent you a message, but I was thinking about the fact that the sunray wasn't shown. I would really like to see a ruler behind the probe and coin, or maybe a hand drawn ruler on a piece of paper with large numbers. This would be more clear on the distance. A couple different targets would be nice too. What sensitivity was the Explorer set to? I usually run 20-25 on the SE Pro and E-Trac and wouldn't turn it up when I open a hole... too much time

  • Since I moved to the E-Trac exclusively... I've noticed that the depth of the sunray is REALLY bad, not much more than an inch... but on my SE Pro it's about 3 inches. My Dad claims 3-4" on his DFX with the sunray. I have the pistolprobe as well, so I may do a test showing the sunray on my two minelab machines vs. the pistolprobe.

  • Being in deep freeze really puts a damper on things, but gives you time to research. Anyway, great video on probe pin pointers! I highly recommend your video to anyone looking to buy a probe.

  • I Like that i goes deep. Im gonna be getting one soon. I almost ordered the whites bulleye II, being cheap. LOL

  • Effective...but quite possibly the worst design ever. I'd get shot using one of those! Too similar to a real gun in size and shape.

  • Nah, that won't happen. Those 40OZ carryin' park walkers won't think twice about it being a gun. Especially if you are poking it around in the ground! LOL. If it really was a concern, wrap some orange tape around the barrel. Actually, I stretched a blue nitrile glove over my entire pistolprobe to keep it clean... can't tell what it is now. Stay away crims or you might get probed!

  • I know the Pistol probe has great depth. But it's too big. It's the size of a sawed off shot gun. If they make them smaller someday I'll buy one. Good test though.

  • They do make them smaller already... it's called a Pocket UniProbe. Those cost more though, so if you can get over the size you can get a nice probe for a good price.
