For throwing such heavy kicks it surprises me people don't catch Yod's kicks more often. He must have extremely good retraction, especially when he aims lower at the body. But I guess a lot of it is to keep your opponent guessing where you're going to throw a strike next.

Your right, the reason Yod's kicks dont get caught more often is because of when he chooses to throw them. If you notice his rope KO pattern he uses a jab and than a body cross, and he mixes this with a jab and than a high kick when the guy thinks hes going for a body cross again. Also if you've ever tried to catch a hard kick, you'll know that there is hi risk because if you dont time it properly your catch will just make you eat the kick, and it hurts.. ALOT lol.

It does hurt quite a bit if you don't move away fast enough while you're doing it but there really are no kicks out there by anybody that you cannot catch if you really want to and you see it coming. But most people's heaviest kicks, mostly thrown by beginners, are really easy to read ahead of time. Another thing Yod does (which actually helped me quite a bit once I started doing it) is he doesn't throw his arm all the way back which makes it really hard for people to read his movement.
