I know the GTO red lighted and the Charger still ran him down, but I expected the Hemi to beat him by six car lengths. A pretty respectable job for a stock head Pontiac with fewer cubes against a race head equiped Mopar. Good race.
ya but it ant the top Muscle. GTO was named as the Grand Daddy of mucsles. and it has won more awards then a Charger. Charger has won the R/T award wicth goes for its name 69 Charger R/T. thats y most people burfure 69 chargers then other yrs. 1969 was when it was named the R/T. But rember now. u got the Dodge Challenger too. and yet Charger and Challenger are VERY close cars. but when u seee the too. i have to say the Challenger is more beasty then a charger.
@Dilsterboy Well the Challenger and the Chargers had identical drivetrains available. The important difference in drag racing is weight, and the Challenger was lighter, therefore faster.
@mercmarc yup! XD pony cars lighter chassis beat do beat muscle car chassis. muscle cars a large anf powrful but there weight is there weakness. so pony cars do got an advantage in their weight. but I dont think In there power and perfomence.
@Dilsterboy I don't think you know what you're talking about. The weight of the Pontiac was about 3800 to 3900 with driver. That's about the same as the charger. The Charger might be less than that.

noooooooooooo...... GTO has a slight better pinch to acceleration! it would smoke that Charger if it wasnt a Hemi.
