By using this ovulation kit I found out that I ovulate on day 20. At first it seemed too late for me, but the second month I tried it I got the same day. So I guess every woman is different.
For women who have irregular cycles there exists this medication called Clomid. It helps to regulate your menstrual cycles. It is a prescribed medication. Also if you are trying to get pregnant there are ovulation kits that you can buy at the pharmacy. They tell you your best days to get pregnant. Hope this info helps

When your cycle is longer than the average cycle it is indeed harder to get pregnent. Every cycle you have 5 days in which you can get pregnant, right before, during and after your ovulation (because sperm lives for five days)
When your cycle takes 28 days you have a change to get prego every 28 days. When your cycle is three months you have a change only every three months.
@jrkena33 yes i had and still have irregular periods. you can get pregnant in between those times as well...it just means you are carrying your blood...and you are backed up your lining has not dropped but you are still producing eggs so play it safe and wear condoms! you should also see the OB about your irregular periods they could be serious like mine. but yes it will take extra hard work (sex every day) for you to get pregnant.

People who are planning a family should have an intercourse during that period or even before since the sperm lives a few days in a woman`s body (rarely it can live for even five days!). Since the ovulation takes place on the 14th day of the menstrual cycle (14 days from the day that woman period began)-do the math. :) Good luck!

Like (akawarelily) wrote, the life of an egg(ovum) after ovulation is approximately 12-24 hours only, in able for a woman to be pregnant a healthy sperm should fertilize/impregnate the egg. Let's say you have your normal menses (bleeding) for around 5 days. Count 14 days after the day of your last bleeding and that would be the best day to fertilize. I hope I did my best in explaining
