The final boss to this day still seems ridiculous to me. A reaper larvae, that's more like the terminator than the reaper. When I saw it I was like "That's it?" Hell it doesn't even have anything cool going for it, at least in the first one the Saren second form was expected but made it much more interesting.

@ROUGEBLOCK did you even play the ending. it was stated reapers are a mix of organic material and synthetic, and that the form of a reaper depends on the organic material supplied. seeing as they were trying to make a HUMAn reaper, it would be in the form of a HUMAN. it can therefore be assumed that the "traditional" reapers like sovereign are what the protheans actually looked like

Don't do the Reaper IFF mission until you do EVERYONES loyalty mission. 4. Then do Legions mission right after the IFF mission. 5. Pick the right people for the jobs in the collector base; Tech expert (Tali, Katsumi, Legion) Squad leader for both times (Miranda, Garrus, Jacob) Escort for Crew (Mordin) Biotic expert (Samara, Jack) and for your final squad..

The last scene featuring Shepard taking a look into the infinite space, from a Normandy's window... and from the other side of the world, the gargantuan Reaper invasion finally making it's appearance approaching the Galaxy, is probably the most epic and malevolent 12 seconds i've ever seen or imagined. To my humble opinion Mass Effect has the best fantasy story of the last decade. It actually ties the original Star Wars universe. Wonder what the upcoming Mass Effect movie will be like.

Just because you got everyone loyal and got all the upgrades doesn't mean that you won't lose anyone, its all about the team composition. For instance, if you send Mordin back with the crew to escort them back to the Normandy, he'll be killed, loyal or not.

If you keep the base and in the end IM appears trying to atone for what he has done in the past.So he offers all the knowledge of the base to Shepard team and it turns out to be crucial in stopping the Reapers.

Currently on 3rd play of Mass effect 2. 1st time..just played just to play. Ended up being Paragon, but destroyed the Collector Base. Lost Jack. 2nd time..played to be Renegade, but left Collector Base intact. Lost no one. 3rd (and current) time through..Playng to be Paragon, but intend to destroy Collector Base and lose no one. My 4th play will be after I have played Mass Effect for a 2nd time. Want to make amends for killing off Wrex and Ashley. :)

If you chose the Paragon option and destroy the base it will light up red/orange, if you chose Renegade and keep the base it will pulse a bluish white. And for anyone that says EMPs are supposed to be blue/white, well they are supposed not to have any kind of colour.

Almost feel bad for the Reaper... Sometimes full loyalty from entire team doesn't prevent them from dying... Any possible love interest from multiple characters the game will kill of any that Shepard doesn't sleep with. Make sure to only show interest to ONE!
