If i were to pick a TD of my taste...I would most importantly have one that has an overall good performing gun (maybe a low profile of the tank for camo bonus, but thats not as important) because after all...its a GUN carrier and TD's are basically defined and rely mainly on its gun to survive.... so German TD are usually my preferred choice of TD! ;)
i would mostly want decent mobility, and a RAIN OF FIRE type gun, i just wana smack them so hard that there grandmother feels it and she tells them to run and cry
@mkelebay Hell yeah. jgpanther is fantastic- speed, gun and front armour bouncing even e-100 shots, than Ferdinand with 128mm with 246 mm penny- this is the shit!
Your playing style caught my attention because theres 2 ways to play as a TD 1. Defensive (most of the people) or 2. As a support for the heavies. And not so many people do that
for my traits i would have a turreted TD with a lot of firepower, but with a high speed and accerlaration, but not with a lot of armour as this would allow me to "Hit and Run". this is because i tend to like popping in and out of cover and whilst having a go at an enemies flank and hopefully killing them or being a nuisance to them. BTW i like your videos as the give me an idea on how a tank should be played. i also like the background history you give about each vehicle.
I feel like the Jagdtiger would be the best option for me.. Decent firepower, decent armor, and decent speed. Gotta have them all when in a TD! Speed isn't as important, but there's a point where you're just TOO slow.
I'm going a little bit out of the way trait wise. In my opinion, fear is the greatest trait a TD has. If you're staring down the barrel of a large caliber gun, you're going to mess your pants. But trait wise, fear factor comes from Firepower, and Camo. If you can't see what's hitting you, and it's taking chunks off, you're less likely to poke your curious little front end out. For example, a Ferdinand can be an area denial weapon. Park it facing down a road, and it can be devastating.
I love firepower, but mobility is also important. When 7.2 lands in the EU servers, I'm gonna get the Hellcat. Nothing beats a TD rushing down on you 60km/h (of course in the game it may be nerfed a little).
I would have to say fire power, the Ferdi is my favorite TD how ever I do find the frontal armor from the middle down is one big soft spot. The Ferdi has good speed and good acceleration.
The Ferdinand looks awesome and seems to be the happy medium between the Russian and american line TD's and therefore in my mind, the best one for tier 8.
I'm still with a JagdPanther and what I'm looking in a tank destroyer is a good gun that packs a powerful punch while being accurate at long distances. When you have an accurate gun that also penetrates heavy tanks, you don't really need an amazing armor (but having it can't hurt, ha!).
i hate the fredie its way to OP! Even when iam using my IS3 or KT i can never pen its front armor only up close can i aim and hit its weak spots when its at distance even worse my guns just can pen its armor but when i use it everbody makes it trough my armor so WoT hates me.
Great video man, really liked the history behind it at the beginning and later the tactics on how to properly use it. I have a Ferdinand and its nice to hear another p-o-v on this TD and how to be effective with and against it.
As far as the question is concerned, I think I prefer the speed, especially with the Ferdinand & how heavy it is. I don't have that last engine or the 128 unlocked yet, and coming from the Jgpanther, I'm missing that agility to move from spot to spot for the next shot.
You know so much about these vehicles its awesome. I just stumbled upon your vids while looking up WOT and I'm already amazed. I can't wait to get my own acct for this, this a good sneak preview for me for what I would be aiming for in the future when I am able to get it myself. This also helps with history because I adore military tech and history :D
And now the armor, its very capable of deflecting smaller rounds at range it has a small chance of bouncing larger rounds like the IS's 122mm or the T29's 105mm, but it has to be a quite terrible shot made by either of those tanks, and yet its speed and turn rate comes into play here, probably shouldve said this before but its highly unlikely that a medium can perform the circle of death in the Jagdpanther. Overall this TD has little flaws and just straight up dominates.
And just to get into more detail it can turn fast enough to engage multiple targets incredibly fast, it can reposition itself in a flash. Even though its 105mm L/52 has a fairly slow reload it still hits like a bitch, and if your not satisfied with the 105mm the 88mm L/71 has a faster reload and a little bit more penetration even though its higher penetration cant be noticed, it still hits hard, even though it does around 100 less damage than the 105mm its enough to ruin your day.
Truthfuly I prefer a TD with maneuverability, power, and sustainability ( armor ). In that case I would have to say the Jagdpanther has all 3 of those traits, it has the highest top speed in the entire german tank destroyer line, plus it can turn like a mofo. Its cannons are very powerful for its tier it has the 88mm L/71 and the 105mm L/52 which is more than capable of taking on higher tiers, also their accuracy allows for sniping. Armor it has 80mm sloped armor, take on any of its tier W/ it.
Everything depends of place of battler (map). In city maps T95 with cover of one tank is like fox in the henhouse- everything is faster than you, but it is only question of a time while you will kill everyone. But in open maps, like malinovka T95 really sucks. Why? Beacuse every tank can round you, hit you and tiring to death. In open wins accuracy. You stand far far away and just shoot them while they will think that nobody sees them. So- city- front armor than firepower), open- accur. then fir
If you want to play a tank with superior armor, go heavy...mobility go medium.... scouting go light.... However, to be tank destroyer, it must have the ability to ambush as well as destroy tanks with ease. And in order to do so, that requires ROF n Firepower. Thats why im waiting for the new nashorn --> dickermax etc... (currently using the JT...which is horrendous to grind until the long 128...which literally becomes THE HUNTING TIGER)
I prefer the T95 and obj. 704, I use the T95 for defensive because it's A slow, huge target for arttys, I use camo, optics, I pack up a balance amount of He and AP, I use the 704 because I like changing my position, because of arttys, and helping out flanks, that's enough talking for me!
I prefer firepower, then armor and finally mobility. My playstyle with tds is more hide and snipe, so I think those traits in that order is typically ideal.
i love Russian tds just because they always have derp guns and they have decent mobility. for example in my su-152 i was matching a pershing's acceleration on flat ground
I like firepower and armor. I'm starting the German TD's :D Currently at the Hetzer, and I could use some premium to grind faster. (See what I did there? xD)
i must say in a perfect world i would have all 3 but it is always fun to be able to one shot ppls. i say firepower, mobility then armor. fun video to watch and good hunting pandy
Everything is important while picking tank destroyer. Depends on situation, sometimes you have to ambush, sometimes push enemy forces. I personnaly would pick, and planning to do that, a Jagdtiger. Bit huge, I don't think camo and frontal armor works like should (beta memories), but I love when I hit where crosshair actually is ;) Also looks pretty nice and pretty ballanced.
If I had a Tank destroyer I would prefer a excellent gun because when u play with a tank destroyer becasue camo could be a subsitute for armor and distance to enemy could be a subsitute for mobility.
If id have to drive a tank destroyer id go with as much armor as possible and get a gun thats just about enough to do some damage...simply i love standing, watching them in their face and going... whatcha gonna do now bi*ch!?
Definitly firepower. It is the whole reason i love my Marder and JagdPanther as much as i do. When the new german TD's (eventually...) arrive the Nashorn, Marder III, Dickermax and Sturer Emil will demonstrate this with thier very strong firepower versus very weak armor as it has. Though armor becomes more important the higher the tiers go it is not a Tank Destroyer's job to soak hits, but more so to deal them in my mind. Manouverability can save you in many situations which most high ones lack.
firepower and mobilety. im not very high on the tank destroyers but i loved the su 85B and the su 76 purely because of there speed and there rate of fire
I like armor and firepower. All the top tier TDs have enough firepower, but only the T95 and 704 really bounce anything since the Jagd has the Tiger II body. If I have someone covering my flank, I'll take the T95, but if I'm solo and don't have a competent team, the 704 will be more useful. Although overall, the 704 is more versatile, while the 95 is more specialized.
I prefer T. Destroyers which have huge alpha damage and good armor. So my favourite TD is ob 704 because it has the damage per shot, great armor, and easy to hide in the bushes because of the low silouette. TD is supposed to camp ( to DEF ) and I find OBJ most suitable to this objective. Thank you for video. I love it
i prefer firepower and armor... I have the T95 on the test server and i really like it.. Its mobility is really bad 13 km/h max i think, but its 305mm frontal armor is so awesomee!! 155mm gun is a beast..i think it is a very good TD if u can handle 13km/h.
Mobility because for me the most frustrating situations are the ones where you do a good job on your flank but you are too slow to help out on the other flank. Thus you lose the game despite doing a good job. With slow tanks, you have to plan ahead more to avoid such situations. This is difficult because you can't really tell in random games how much your team will suck.
Firepower is an obvious requirement, but all of the >T8 TDs have enough of it.
Best thing for a td are firepower and armor you dont need the mobility so much because the td tanks are mostly tanks that stay back and provide suporting cover you just need to be in a group.
I really enjoy the firepower>Rate of Fire>Accuracy>protection>mobility and, the reasoning is that a strong hit dont mean much if 2-3 more shots can come in and rip you up. I find in most tier 8-10 matches someone who can send more shots down field has a greater chance to do more damage than someone that is a one hit wonder.
I prioritize firepower over protection and protection over mobility, since a TD is never going to be as agile as a medium so i'd rather be able to place myself in a corner with only my front exposed and able to bouncy plenty of shells while reigning hell.
great video i really like ur moviemaking.. as for the question i would definitly like firepower-->mobility--->protection but low silhouette is very appreciated...
When I pick a TD, I consider accuracy and firepower as the main aspects of my choice. Accuracy because they are generally long range/ low mobility fighters. They have the potential to reach out and fuck shit up, as long as you don't jump in.
For a tier 8 I would defo go for the Ferdinand, as for tier 9 Im not sure. I tend to like fire power with a bit of mobility since it fits my play style better but the T95 sure is a beast. But yeah, fire power > mobility > armor imo!
personally i prefer armor/firepower over mobility on TD's minly becuase mobility will rarely save you froma medium thats gets close anyhow but a big gun will put fear into them ever attempting to charge you.
Firepower definitely, because you can trow well punches to higher tier tanks and to lower tier tanks also.It would be nice if you had good armor and mobility but you must sacrifice one of that,so if it must be done then armor is winner.
Firepower and mobility. I have always liked the stug iii because of it's mobility, so i can spin fast enough if there is someone trying to flanke me. And also firepower because then i can deal damage to higher tiers.
i would rather have penetration because if you cant penetrate an enemies armor you cant do shit then firepower then armor and finally mobility sacrifices must be made lol
A well balanced gun with good accuracy and then mobility the concept of a tank destroy is to snipe so armor should be last and i use a camouflage net with mine so the enemy has less of a chance of spotting me at distance
I would pick gun over mobility and armor... Because positioning i key to plying a tank destroyer and if u have a fast firing accurate with good penatration gun then tht makes ur job a whole lot easier
But its a very nice gun. I havent used it, i only reached JagdPanzerIV so far on the german Tank destroyers. And do you play with a Angled Gameplaye, i felt like it was shaped or something.
I prefer gun to kick butt and take names with a balance of armor and mobility to be able to preposition if required, just encase you are about to get into trouble. The JagdTiger has a good balance with what I prefer, although it has its weak points; I feel it has the ability to move around the battlefield easier and support the team more by sniping off those targets from range.
With the balance of armor and mobility, you can also 'brawl' in close quarters if you need it, just helps you survive.
i think the t95 is the best because ther is not alot that can pen your front and if u are dealing with noobs or low tiers u are able to rape, but i also see were some people would say the mobility and gun of the 704
armor and gun, but the thing is that the JT has good armor and a decent gun but u can get lucky shots on its frontal weakspot from any range wich u won't really have with the 704 but then again at close range a tier 8 can penetrate the 704. the t95 is the best sniper imo but a bad brawler because of the copula.
But I prefer fast with a little bit of armor and a big gun normally I run around in my t82 but im workin my way to get the jagdtiger just because it's my fav tank destroyer
id rather have a gun with excellent penetration. Armour doesn't mean anything to me i think that td's shouldn't be taking to many hits anyway if i don't have armor i find a building. buildings= 9999 armor. mobility would be nice but isn't necessary as i shouldn't be moving that much anyway
so all in all i would like something like the JT massive penetration and decent mobility with some marginally effective armor.
Firepower. Armor doesn't say much in higher tiers, plus experienced players know the weakspots in your armor anyway, so I'd rather go full glass-cannon mode.
Well as a TD your gun is of the utmost importance- good accuracy and penetration are a must. From there it's really down to your preferred play style. Some people like the T95 because it will take everything you can throw at it and keep on coming, whilst others enjoy having the manoeuvrability to flank opponents and reposition when necessary. It just comes down to how you like to play the game.
My opinion is that the gun makes the tank, so for a TD I would want an accurate, heavy hitting gun. I'm going for the JTiger right now, currently at JPanther and lovin' it! By the way great video; gave me a nice preview of things to come.
I would love for a tank destroyer to have the armor of the T95, accuracy of a JT, gun and mobility of a 704 and have the turret of the T30, now that would be sweet.
I would have a mix of everyone... Therefore the obj wins.. The gun is awesome. The armor can bounce actually more than JT since everyone penetrates the lower plate of the JT.. And T95 is too slow.. So too easy arty target, same with JT since it is huge, and goes slow.. Also, the obj. has better mobility and camo values. :)
The main thing for TD's (for me) is the weapon. If i wanted armor, I would use my heavy, if I wanted mobility, i would get a medium. All I ask is a big and accurate gun, exactly the reason I love my Ferdi.
High Damage accurate gun, with average armor is good when you have good scouts. High armor decent gun when you have to spot your targets yourself. Gold would be very much appreciated :) thanks for doing a video on the Ferdi, the only thing I don't like about it is the speed, and sloped armor, but if I had more speed i wouldn't really need that much armor.
my mom wont let mt buy gold caus she thinks its a waste of money D:

I like armor and firepower. All the top tier TDs have enough firepower, but only the T95 and 704 really bounce anything since the Jagd has the Tiger II body. If I have someone covering my flank, I'll take the T95, but if I'm solo and don't have a competent team, the 704 will be more useful. Although overall, the 704 is more versatile, while the 95 is more specialized.

I would rather have accuracy, nothing more frustrating then shots falling short, overshooting or completely missing.

I love it

I prefer armor and mobility
Because you wont need a lot of firepower when you are outflanking your enemies.
Jazzel93 1 month ago
I rather have a verry strong gun on my tank destroyer.
THEowneger214 1 month ago
i prefer firepower and armor... I have the T95 on the test server and i really like it.. Its mobility is really bad 13 km/h max i think, but its 305mm frontal armor is so awesomee!! 155mm gun is a beast..i think it is a very good TD if u can handle 13km/h.

I prefer firepower and mobility on any tank.
Firepower is an obvious requirement, but all of the >T8 TDs have enough of it.
sUp3rn0va88 1 month ago
Best thing for a td are firepower and armor you dont need the mobility so much because the td tanks are mostly tanks that stay back and provide suporting cover you just need to be in a group.
MrMarinko222 1 month ago
Firepower must come first, but when it comes to armor and mobility I'd either like max armor and poor mobility or a good balance between them.

TheSlythorn 1 month ago
balance!! ftw imo
smexsa 1 month ago
I prioritize firepower over protection and protection over mobility, since a TD is never going to be as agile as a medium so i'd rather be able to place myself in a corner with only my front exposed and able to bouncy plenty of shells while reigning hell.

When I pick a TD, I consider accuracy and firepower as the main aspects of my choice. Accuracy because they are generally long range/ low mobility fighters. They have the potential to reach out and fuck shit up, as long as you don't jump in.
EmoCactus 1 month ago in playlist Pandy's World of Tanks Videos
For a tier 8 I would defo go for the Ferdinand, as for tier 9 Im not sure. I tend to like fire power with a bit of mobility since it fits my play style better but the T95 sure is a beast. But yeah, fire power > mobility > armor imo!

I really like when TD has a mobility and firepower, like a ISU-152, it has quite good mobility and a firepower on it is just amazing :)

First firepower definitely so you can own every tank in game also good armor is good so you won't die in 1 shot lol
bogdanelradu 1 month ago
i would take a OB704, but Jgtiger have relay good reload so i must think :D
andrinkls 1 month ago
personally i prefer armor/firepower over mobility on TD's minly becuase mobility will rarely save you froma medium thats gets close anyhow but a big gun will put fear into them ever attempting to charge you.

Love your videos! My game is improving a lot since i started watching your vids!
nicolaasvink 1 month ago
Firepower definitely, because you can trow well punches to higher tier tanks and to lower tier tanks also.It would be nice if you had good armor and mobility but you must sacrifice one of that,so if it must be done then armor is winner.

You talking about any russian/american/french tank = super excited and really proud of them
You talking about any german tank = you talk all routine-ish and no texcited at all about their pros, only talk about their cons

firepower and armor makes a tank TD so t95 it is
bilios29 1 month ago
Firepower and mobility. I have always liked the stug iii because of it's mobility, so i can spin fast enough if there is someone trying to flanke me. And also firepower because then i can deal damage to higher tiers.

Firepower
TheDrummerboy526 1 month ago
mobility because i hate when a tank gets beside my tracks and prevents me from moving and firepower and armour won't do anything when that happens
sixonesixfiv 1 month ago
I dont use TD-s, so I dont know which tier 9 is the best, but when I play, the biggest threat for me is the obj704.

When picking TD i want firepower and armor and trust my teammates to cover me if a med is trying to get around me.
XxxxFinlandxxXx 1 month ago
i would rather have penetration because if you cant penetrate an enemies armor you cant do shit then firepower then armor and finally mobility sacrifices must be made lol

A well balanced gun with good accuracy and then mobility the concept of a tank destroy is to snipe so armor should be last and i use a camouflage net with mine so the enemy has less of a chance of spotting me at distance
armyassassin96 1 month ago in playlist Pandy's World of Tanks Videos
I would pick gun over mobility and armor... Because positioning i key to plying a tank destroyer and if u have a fast firing accurate with good penatration gun then tht makes ur job a whole lot easier
thebluecow24 1 month ago
Firepower, without a doubt!
Make that first shot from ambush count!
SGusky 1 month ago
I look for penetration for all tanks now. Firepower second and mobility third. Armor makes the tank super slow.
dtoften 1 month ago
Is it well balanced?
Seems very good, but weak armor and Flat Armor..
But its a very nice gun. I havent used it, i only reached JagdPanzerIV so far on the german Tank destroyers. And do you play with a Angled Gameplaye, i felt like it was shaped or something.
Great Video's, Continiue with your Videos.

mjbeck123 1 month ago
personally I like firepower then mobility. As a TD getting spotted shouldn't be a problem if you position correctly.
On that note I have found the German TDs more to my liking over the Russian and American.
High pen and faster reload plus better aim allows me to find that weak point on a tank and pick at it till that lovely flash pop and smoke flows.
Loving the vids btw keep it up Pandy.

Ruuj100 1 month ago
i ll take that monster gun but i want the speed, so 704
phupikachu1 1 month ago
a good gun is what i look for in TDs becuase they are meant for ambushes and sniping but armor and mobility are always good
lavaleopardgecko 1 month ago
i think the t95 is the best because ther is not alot that can pen your front and if u are dealing with noobs or low tiers u are able to rape, but i also see were some people would say the mobility and gun of the 704
ShootingHillbilly 1 month ago in playlist Pandy's World of Tanks Videos
armor and gun, but the thing is that the JT has good armor and a decent gun but u can get lucky shots on its frontal weakspot from any range wich u won't really have with the 704 but then again at close range a tier 8 can penetrate the 704. the t95 is the best sniper imo but a bad brawler because of the copula.

i like armor over speed depending on the map. if its urban or a camp map i will take armor but if its a open map i will like i mobile td
wotblaster 1 month ago
id rather have a gun with excellent penetration.

GenericAmerican1 1 month ago
the obj.704 is a top gun tank. it my be slow but when i was playing with my lowe i got raped by the obj. CRAZY!$#@$
MrCv1998 1 month ago
High Damage accurate gun, with average armor is good when you have good scouts. High armor decent gun when you have to spot your targets yourself. Gold would be very much appreciated :) thanks for doing a video on the Ferdi, the only thing I don't like about it is the speed, and sloped armor, but if I had more speed i wouldn't really need that much armor.
