Warning! This vehicle is equipped with a lifetime air filter! this is one of the best purchases you can make for your vehicle, maybe a little lucas oil stabilizer.....
@BuzzToGo I personally didn't feel much of a performance change, but you could hear the intake of the air a little bit more when pinning the throttle. Sounds kind of neat.
@Bikeman1087 that's what someone else said to me...plus I have an aftermarket exhaust. I hope that's not true...that's just more money I have to spend haha. I am going to change my spark plugs, and if that doesn't help the gas mileage out, it sounds like I will need to get a power commander.
@ToastToGo That's a bigger reason for needing power commander. Otherwise you can slowly ruin the engine.Sure theres other way to find out how lean engine runs, but it costs, best is dyno test but sure just mixture gauge/meter is enough. Funny how you complain about gas mileage. My bike consumpts mostly 7-9L/100km with my riding style and I'm not worried about it at all. I also have k&N and aftermarket exhaust. I pay everything myself.
@Bikeman1087 I've paid for everything myself too. That's another reason why I am not looking forward to needing a power commander...that's more money out of my pocket haha. Not to mention I'm kinda broke right now too.
I am curious how much of an improvement it is. I installed K&N filters on many of my bikes, and I could tell an improvement as the bike breathes better. One bike I had to re-jet.
@DarkFlight600 Oh I already know it. I took the bike to work today, and it felt so much better. I know my bike was happy happy happy. Now just for some new plugs or something a little further down the line. :)
I had to watch this vid as soon as i saw the description which said "pointless video." Pays to advertise and ur def tricky on ur crafty tactics for enticing people to watch. ;P
Seriously tho, any improvements in driveability? Itd be awesome if this was all that was causing the mileage and missing prob but im kinda thinking it prolly still needs plugs since the paper filter didnt really look to bad.
@woodenchairs I'm a pretty sneaky guy sometimes. :) And yes, there is definitely an improvement in drive ability. The when I start the bike when it's cold, it doesn't die right away, it idles low for a little, but doesn't die! And now the bike sounds better, and I can definitely feel a more responsive throttle. I am always glad when I change the air filter. I will see how it improves fuel economy.

I think that after you installed the k&n, you need a power commander etc.

@cashstore1 So far, so good! Better throttle response and sounds better.

@ToastToGo Yeah, it makes it sound better too. That's a good mod you put on the bike. Are you doing the Ozark thing?

@cashstore1 Yup, sure am. Unless I find a job that doesn't allow me to take time off. I'm most certain I'm going.

@woodenchairs And the filter didn't look too bad because I had actually cleaned it the day before.
