  • i love my dawg roy!

  • @GambinoHill that's right on point.

  • The mind is the ego, the empty 'Self'. It has no potential, no power, no reality. The egoic mind is an illusionist, its foundation is falsehood and fear. The soul or spirit is the Infinite 'I'..Which is all power, and knows all.. The YAHWEH within you.. salvation is realizing that all power is within...then the egoic mind deflates itself...

  • The string composition on this is driving me nuts :) Ive been listening to non stop for like 2 days

  • 2 days!!! dayummmm, and i thought i was obsessed with this. i feel u tho bro

  • For everybody: Roy Ayers wrote this into the LP sleeve about the lyrics I´m Your Mind... "With this composition, I was inspired to talk to a gifted young writer named Carl Clay who runs a theatre out in Queens, New York. I had asked Carl to write some words about the mind and call it I Am Your Mind. He wrote this words that I recited in this beautiful composition and the words were always what was appreciated by the public." Honor who deserves honor. Check the Clay´s site.

  • WHEW!!! this is serious!!!!! why oh why do i have to go "searching" for SOUL music. i wish i could just turn on the radio and hear this goodness.

  • this is so sexy and relaxing

  • Yeah, this is from the album "Virgin Ubiquity: Part II". Virgin Ubiquity part I has another version of this song. The words are different, but just as thought provoking/truthful. It has a lot harder sound, in contrast to Part II, and it's equally as good--still Ayers at his best. The Part I album has one of the original Rayettes (Ray Charles' girls)singing on a few songs. A couple of other low-publicity songstresses are on the album, too. It is really worth the effort of attaining it.

  • amazing, soundslike one of those days when thoughts just clash, brilliant.

  • Never gets old

  • when it comes to "today's sound", THANK GOD for the old...word2u ab94 :-)

  • true dat

  • I love that "old" sound its raw and gritty

  • I don't really want to know about your medical problems, but you should seek a professional advice and increase you dietary fibre intake.

  • blunt anyone?

  • man can we get this kinda "MUSIC" back...sub-conscious mind state to make us pure again!!!

  • yea, cause all this other stuff is full of tainted vibes and sounds. lest go back

  • I say that thoughtfully composed soul music, along with the analog sound is the best.

In my opinion,I believe that the analog sound of the 1970s is the pinnacle of the "inside your head sound". Its (warm and fuzzy) as if it was in your head. I think that those people who are more introspective and intuitive, immediately gravitate to this sound. Digital can only mimic it but never produce it.

  • u right, thats why its grabs u like it does. its touching as if it came from your mind or was made just for u. people were closer to the tunes back then and they felt it more.

  • "Can we get this kinda music back"???? Man, it never went away. You hearing it now, aint you. I got this disc, after doing some research, in Sydney, Australia. Heads down there, too. Soul and Vibe will always be around. Just don't be afraid to NOT bump new music when you drive. You'll be pleasantly fulfilled with retro music cause if it's good, it's timeless, like Isley Bros.,Maze, EWF, Gap Band, Roy Ayers, and even "Off The Wall Michael Jackson!" You know what I mean.

  • roy ayers' music is a school of thought, an auditory philosophy, a way of life.

  • His music that deep

  • Serious groovin 4 serious grooverz

  • 'by the way, i need more than sex to nourish my equilibrium; but i do need sex.' classic line.

  • smooth...mmmmmmmmnnnnn.

  • LOL @ Jarbon.

  • Damn, he's telling that he's my mind again, but I didn't know he was my mind the first time. Man, I need to be more aware of things and pay attention to what's going on cuz like I said, I didn't even know:(

  • wow man ur fuckin trippin face right now

  • In "The Wrath of Khan", Khan slips little eels inside the ear of USS Enterprise crewmen. The little alien eel gives him control over Chekov and the starship. Its kind of like when Roy Ayers crawls inside your mind and becomes your mind.

  • Hmm, that does make sense, but I can't recall meeting Mr. Ayers for him to crawl inside my ear to end up becoming my mind. But, it is possible for him to have done it when I wasn't paying attention. That's a distinct possibility. Like I said, I need to pay more attention to what's going on around me and to be more aware of what's going on.

  • roy ayers, ronny jordan, kenny garrett...what are they smoking? I wanna smoke that too!
